Mission and objectives

UNODC’s mission is to contribute to global peace and security, human rights and development by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism. This Strategy for the next five years will equip UNODC to deliver effectively, efficiently and with accountability, elevating our support to Member States to build just, inclusive and resilient societies that leave no one behind.

Context

The UNODC program office in Lebanon is implementing the EU-funded project entitled “Enhancing Access to Justice, fundamental rights safeguards in the criminal justice system, and independent justice oversight mechanisms”. One of the main goals of the project is the establishment of a new correctional facility for children/boys in conflict with the law, in line with UN standards and norms. Following the completion of the construction works, the focus has now shifted to the final stages of the preparation for the relocation of juveniles from the prison to the new facility. This phase includes the design and furnishing of the new facility to ensure it provides a safe and child-friendly environment. In this context, UNODC is seeking a volunteer to assist in creating wayfinding signs and developing a slogan and logo for the facility.

Task description

- Develop and create a short slogan with its visual (ideally consisting of 2 words but not exceeding 3 words) that reflects the purpose and values of the facility. The slogan should convey a sense of hope, transformation, and positive change, emphasizing successful reintegration into society through rehabilitation programs. - Design 10 to 12 wayfinding signage (child-friendly) for different rooms/sections in the facility (e.g. Vocational training, classes, Administration, sports/garden area, family visits area, and bedrooms,… more details will be given after assigning the candidates) that ensure clear and effective wayfinding throughout the facility for both staff and juveniles. For info: Take into consideration in the creation of the design that the restricted materials in the new facility are aluminum, steel and Plexi. The template or final product should be adaptable to fit signs of any size.
