Name: Felix Yuen, Student of LLM in IP 2018/2019, Hong Kong China

Profile:

Hong Kong qualified solicitor specialised in intellectual property; after several years in private practice, currently Asian Regional Licensing and Legal Officer of IFPI, the international organisation representing the recording industry worldwide. Its members include over 1,300 record companies in 59 countries and national groups or affiliated collective management organisations in 57 countries.

"The best part of the WIPO & UNITO LLM in IP Programme is that it brings together and bonds a number of IP practitioners, experts and enthusiasts across different fields. We share updates, discuss developments, linking dots, on both professional and personal levels back then in Italy and now. In a very specialised area such as IP, you would definitely appreciate having an ever-strengthening circle as such."

My career and projects:

“Looking after the APAC markets, my team and I advocate laws and policies that help the creative industries to grow and foster. There have been quite some developments in copyright law regimes in the region which keep us excited and busy. Another focus of mine is to facilitate and improve collective licensing and I work hand in hand with the national collecting bodies in business, legal and regulatory aspects.”
