The United Nations Young Professional Programme (YPP) intake is an annual highlight for young professionals with the 'right' nationality, that are under the age of 32 years and holders of a bachelor's degree.

With the 'right' nationality I refer to the fact that not all UN member states are invited, but only the ones that are under-represented, this year 62 member states are invited. Hence you may not be eligible this year. But don't give up, add a reminder to your calendar, next year may be your chance.

What is the United Nations Young Professionals Programme?

The UN Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a fantastic recruitment initiative for talented, highly qualified professionals to start a career as an international civil servants with the United Nations Secretariat. It consists of an entrance examination and a professional development program for successful candidates.

Who can apply for the YPP?

UN will invite over 60 member states to participate in the 2022 YPP. Invited countries are either un or under-represented in the UN Secretariat. The UN actively seeks talents from these countries since too few or no nationals of these states work in the secretariat.

Notice that only nationals of invited countries are eligible to apply.
