About the project
CKD is initiating a three-year project in Uttar Pradesh (UP)– Project Utthan. Project Utthan will steer convergence between the government’s adolescent health initiatives for improved adolescent health outcomes in three districts of UP. It will build on existing strengths and opportunities in the state of UP. The project will collaborate with the state and district administration for enhanced scheme implementation, build capacities, and design and implement innovative pilots. The intervention will influence and aim to improve three adolescent health outcomes among school-going boys and girls in selected districts of UP.
  1. Increase knowledge on gender, reproductive health, and ways of maintaining good mental and physical health.
  2. Improving compliance with Weekly Iron & Folic Acid supplementation (WIFS) and deworming to contribute towards anemia reduction.
  3. Improve access to mental health services.

Job Description
 
About the Role:
 
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of Project Utthan by designing and implementing a robust monitoring and evaluation framework. The MEL Officer will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, measuring project impact, and providing insights for continuous improvement. Support the project team in conducting the baseline and endline studies of the project. The key responsibilities will thus require:
  • Design data collection tools, surveys, and methodologies to gather relevant information on adolescent health outcomes.
  • Work closely on the baseline survey and endline survey with a technical agency, support and steer the survey with regular visits and monitoring.
  • Provide technical assistance for ensuring timely data collection, compilation, and report preparation.
  • Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of data related to gender, reproductive health, compliance with health supplementation, and mental health services.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data through regular validation processes.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to project leadership and stakeholders on the progress and impact of the project.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of monitoring and evaluation data.
  • Identify and address any data quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Recommend adjustments to project strategies based on evidence and lessons learned.
  • Design the formats for monitoring and evaluation of the program at all levels, triangulate data, for presentation to the donor.
Role Requirements:
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for health programs, preferably in the context of adolescent health.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, or R).
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex data insights to diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Experience: 7-10 years of experience
Minimum Educational Qualifications: Master's degree in Public Health, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field.
