Aajeevika Bureau, Udaipur, Rajasthan
Coordinator (Women Workers’ Empowerment)
Women Candidates Only
Location: Udaipur
Last date: November 30, 2023.

Aajeevika Bureau (AB), headquartered in Udaipur, is a non-profit trust registered in 2005 with a vision to secure, dignified lives of communities dependent on labour and migration (www.aajeevika.org). AB operates through a network of facilitation centres and offers services and solutions to seasonal migrant workers and their families. These centres are based at the source (in Rajasthan) and destination (in Gujarat and Maharashtra).

AB’s work aims to empower women in migration affected communities to help them overcome the pressures arising from informal, low waged work. Women’s labour remains invisible and unpaid exposing them to various vulnerabilities. AB promotes and nurtures solidarity groups of rural women called ‘Ujala Samooh’ who then advocate for their rights’ and entitlements from local administration. These groups are organized into apex structures at block and panchayat levels. With over 13000 women in Ujala Samoohs across south Rajasthan, AB’s strategy includes developing a cadre of strong peer leaders and volunteers who extend linkages to basic social protection, access to regular work under NREGA, access to pensions and subsidized ration and support local planning at panchayat level.

The current position involves working closely with women in the community and is reserved for women candidates only.
