IOM India is in search of an experienced service provider to lend their expertise on a Joint Programme focused on enhancing the resilience of migrant and vulnerable rural communities in climate – change affected areas of Telangana. The Service Provider’s contribution will be towards integrated training on gender, age and child sensitivity to key stakeholders of the Joint Programme.
Applications must at a minimum have the following:
Education and Experience - At a minimum, the Service Provider should have:
- Demonstrable professional and academic expertise in Gender Studies, Women Studies, Human Rights, Development Studies, Environmental and Social Sciences or a related fields from accredited academic institutions of at least ten years;
- Experience in the field of gender equality, gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, issues of children and youth and operational support;
- Understanding of gender and social inclusion in context of complex interlinkages between climate change, rural livelihoods and migration, preferably in context of the two project states;
- Experience in capacity development initiatives, adult learning;
- Familiarity and experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/international institutions and NGOs in the field of gender equality, women empowerment and social inclusion.
Skills and Core Competencies
- Work effectively with local stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the broader community;
- Experience working with government and local organizations in Telangana;
- Able to conduct meetings/interviews in English/Hindi/Telugu and through digital tools.
- Ability to correctly frame gender and social issues within regional, global and political context;
- Familiarity with international standards and frameworks on gender equality, women's rights, environmental and social safeguards;
- Ability to liaise with state and district level government officials in the departments of women and child development
- Expertise in conducting gender analysis, reporting and writing skills;
- Demonstrable communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to develop training resources and conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for diverse audiences;
- Proficiency in English and Telugu are required. Contextual understanding of the target sites in the state is mandatory.
