To keep pace with growth, CBM Cameroon Country Office team is looking for a Programme Officer Social Protection.
The position is a Fulltime position with 40 h/week.
This position is only filled locally with contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.

These are your responsibilities
- Lead focal point for social protection in country office programmes.
- Build capacities of country team and partners in social protection, including contextualisation within Community Support Services and Systems (CSS).
- Support and advise in building linkages between programmes and existing (formal and informal) social protection schemes and systems.
- Advise and engage with stakeholders including government on making social protection schemes inclusive of persons with disabilities and engage in respective country-level technical conversations with LCDF donors.
- Provide technical support to projects (including operations) on disability inclusive social protection.
- Support the country office in maintaining strong collaborations and diversifying partnerships, alliances, and relationships with a focus on social protection.
- Support the programme team to conduct initial and regularly updated organizational capacity assessments and/or partnership reviews on social protection, jointly develop plans to address capacity gaps, identify solutions, monitor implementation, and document learning.
- Work with partners to gather and share quality project information and content to support CBM’s internal and external communication to demonstrate the impact of disability inclusive social protection with good practice documentation and success stories.
These are your qualifications
- Graduate degree (preferably Masters) in social sciences, international development, humanitarian studies, social policy or related field.
- Professional experience of three to five years working in national or international NGOs or other organisations, including government, with a track record of work in programmes (ideally development) with a focus on or an area related to social protection.
- Experience in developing and managing projects, ideally in an area related to social protection.
- Knowledge of social protection schemes (mainstream or disability- specific) in Cameroon.
- Experience in results-based management and project cycle management, including assessment, monitoring and evaluation, with an understanding of log frames and budgets. Project finance experience advantageous.
- Experience in managing internal and external relationships, particularly with government, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders working in or at the margins of social protection.
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and teamwork.
- Persons with lived experience of disability are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and French.
- Other language: e.g. Sign Language (Advantageous).
- Proficient in MS Office.
