About the Role:
The Head of Programs plays a critical role in ensuring the success and impact of myAgro's projects, driving program excellence, and contributing to myAgro's mission and strategic objectives. You will lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of specific short-term and long-term programs and support the strategic plan for program growth and expansion for all myAgro countries.
Reporting to the COO, you will engage with donors, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders and partners. You will have direct oversight of government relations, innovations, and agricultural programs.
You will be based in Dakar, Senegal.
You Will:
- Forecast and improve staffing and resource needs, managing performance and coordination with country staff.
- Develop insightful, accurate, and reports highlighting financial and operational performance to allow quick, fact-based decision-making by senior management.
- Maintain relationships with donors with the development team, including reporting and regular check-ins.
Program Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement program strategies, operational plans, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of programs, ensuring they meet the quality standards and achieve intended outcomes.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all program activities.
- Analyze program data and generate reports to inform decision-making and improve program delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor program staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and governments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for program-related inquiries and communication.
- Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events.
Financial Management:
- Oversee program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Monitor financial performance and report on program expenditures and funding needs.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support program sustainability and growth.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks to program success and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all program activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
- Address any issues that arise during program execution promptly and effectively.
You Have:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex programs.
- Experience with agricultural practices, and innovations
- Excellent strategic planning and people management skills.
- Fluency in English and French is required.
