The Secretariat of the WTO is seeking to fill the position of Graphic Designer in the Languages, Documentation and Information Management Division (LDIMD).
The Graphic & Event Design, Print & Distribution Section (GEDPD) is responsible for maintaining the corporate identity of the WTO, creating visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire and promote the work of the Organization. This includes overseeing the corporate brand and working with other Divisions and clients to advise, design, develop, produce, and distribute visual content (e.g., digital, print material).
General Functions
- Create and develop a wide range of graphic design projects, including visual communication materials for events (digital and print), publications, infographics, fact sheets, signage etc.
- Collaborate with various teams to conceptualize and execute designs that align with our brand guidelines and project goals.
- Assist in the production of materials for key events and other high-profile side events.
- Design layouts for digital and print publications, ensuring high quality and consistency across all materials.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Provide innovative design solutions and contribute creative ideas to enhance visual communication and promote the work of the Organization.
- Perform other duties, as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Completion of secondary education is required.
- Studies in graphic design would be an asset.
Knowledge and Skills:
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with other graphic design software and tools.
- Solid understanding of digital and print production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics and visual balance.
- Knowledge of animation tools and the ability to create original illustrations is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret data graphics and create original infographics and figures.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and/or project management tools.
Behavioural Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to handle the administrative tasks related to a graphics project.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work proactively in an autonomous manner and as part of a team.
Work Experience:
- Minimum five years' relevant professional experience is required.
Languages:
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and in French is required.
