Background/Context
The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, it was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.
The UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) addresses gender equality and women’s empowerment challenges in the Asia-Pacific region, including deeply embedded discriminatory social norms and practices that perpetuate inequalities based on gender and other intersectional identities (e.g. ethnicity, class, region, age, disability, migratory status, and sexual orientation and gender identity, among others). The Regional Office works across the following areas: Governance and Inter-governmental support (including on Gender Statistics); Women’s Economic Empowerment (including Migration, Ending Violence Against Women; Women, Peace and Security; Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Action. Covering 42 countries within Asia and the Pacific, it exercises its triple mandate and functions i.e. Normative, Coordination and high-quality programming at a regional level and in support of UN Women’s offices and UN Country Teams in 24 countries across the region. The UN Women Asia Pacific Regional Office also oversees and manages programming in programme presences.
Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Unit is leading planning, and monitoring and reporting of the implementations of multi-year business plans and annual work plans of the regional office and country offices and provide support for them in effectively conduct planning as well as strengthening monitoring and reporting. Also, the unit spearheads oversight and quality assurance of donor reports and donor agreements.
The Planning, Monitoring and Reporting consultant works with and provides support to the members of the Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Unit in quality assurance for the development, monitoring and reporting of multi-year plans as well as donor reports and donor agreements, consistent with UN Women rules and regulations.

Required Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Master's degree in Social Sciences, Law, Political Science, Development, Public Administration, or another relevant field, is required.
- A first-level university degree in Social Sciences, Law, Political Science, Development, Public Administration, or another relevant field in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a relevant area supporting project management, monitoring and reporting including donor reporting or donor agreements and ideally planning.
- Experience working with the United Nations, or a similar international organization context is an asset.
- Experience in the Asia and the Pacific region is an asset.
- Must be capable of effectively using MS Word and Excel.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
Evaluation:
