Organizational Setting
The Department of Management (MT) provides a 'platform of services' that serves as a foundation for the successful delivery of the IAEA's scientific and technical programmes. Its mission statement is as follows\: "MT is a partner and a business enabler that champions change and efficiency, leveraging a common purpose". Thus, among other support activities, it assists a scientific manager in recruiting the right expert, helps a technical officer coordinate the purchase of radiation equipment, and ensures that all Board documents are translated and distributed on a timely basis to Member States.
One of the main functions assigned to the IAEA by its Statute is to foster the exchange of scientific and technical information and the dissemination of knowledge in the nuclear field among Member States.
To facilitate the effective exchange and dissemination of information relevant to the IAEA's work and mandate, the Division of Conference and Document Services (MTCD) coordinates and supports the implementation of these activities for its users and clients, both internal and external, by organizing meetings and conferences, issuing documents in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish, and editing, printing and distributing publications.
The MTCD Language Services Section (LSS) is responsible for coordinating, managing and delivering language services for the Agency. The Section promotes multilingualism and maintains language standards of the organization through editing and translation of PMO documents, incoming and outgoing Secretariat documents and correspondence, web articles and advocacy material, Agency publications and other content.
Main Purpose
Reporting to the Head of the Language Services Section, the Coordinator (Multilingual Production Team) supervises the Multilingual Production Team and coordinates the work done by the Team, including identifying and implementing efficiencies related to it.
Role
The Coordinator (Multilingual Production Team) is a coordinator, liaising among the multilingual output production team, the document management team and the six language services [content processing] teams, as well as with internal clients on day-to-day issues for the efficient and effective delivery of services.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Supervise and organize the work of the Multilingual Production Team by ensuring the consistent implementation of best practices and the most efficient coordination of the linguistic and technical resources available in order to produce the required output in the six languages in a timely manner.
Liaise with the other teams in the Section regarding workload, priorities and deadlines in order to ensure the effective delivery of the service.
Improve work practices and recommend workflow streamlining within the team to achieve efficient process delivery.
Identify opportunities for and implement automation of any relevant processes in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Multilingual Production Team.
Perform analysis and provide input for workload statistics, as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills
- University degree in languages or a related subject; a combination of specialized training and four additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the university degree.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience, some of which in an international environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge in proofreading and layout tasks.
- Experience in analysing existing workflow processes and in implementing new processes.
- Experience in working with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience in coordinating teams of support staff in an international organization is an asset.
- Knowledge of other content processing software e.g. Typefi, InDesign an advantage.
- Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $50377 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 30176, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
