Organizational Setting

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil - Programme.
Technical Focus
Carry out a study aimed at identifying, analyzing and proposing strategies for qualification, expansion and strengthening of the participation of family farming in school feeding and the actions of the MDA linked to the PNAE, through surveys and evaluations on the sales of family farming to the PNAE, the legal framework and the management experiences of the Program; the identification of gaps, contradictions, innovations and good practices; and the proposition of specific recommendations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Evaluate the participation of family farming within the scope of the PNAE (2019-2023).
• Carry out systematization and analysis of federal legislation on family farming and the PNAE (2019 to 2023).
• Conduct a survey of studies, experiences, and governance data within the scope of the PNAE (2019 to 2023).
• Systematize results of studies and successful experiences linked to the execution of the PNAE (2019 to 2023).
• Subsidize CGAL/DEACAF in the processes of defining the points that can be improved in the performance of the MDA in relation to the PNAE and the implementation of the strategies defined as priorities.
• Assist the project in meetings with the strategic actors involved in the issues related to the elaboration of the Products.
• Participate in meetings with the project coordination to level the lines of action of the assignment.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING\:
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree Applied Social Sciences, Health Sciences or Agricultural Sciences, according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge
• Minimum experience of 04 (four) years of work on topics such as public policies on food and nutrition, Human Right to Adequate Food and Nutrition (DHANA), food and nutrition security, food and nutrition education and/or family farming. In case of having specialization and 03 (three) years of experience in the requested areas. In case of having Master's degree and 02 (two) years of experience in the requested areas and in case of having a Doctorate and 01 (one) year of experience in the requested areas
• Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and Portuguese
• Brazilian Nationality or resident of the country with valid work permit.
