Reduce vulnerabilities of women, men and children affected by the disasters and emergency situation in BARMM through increased access to quality essential services including GBV support services and enhanced capacities on Protection and gender-based violence (GBV) response
Key activities in your role will include
Objective 1: Increase awareness on GBV and protection support services and referrals
- Conduct of information dissemination on the rights, entitlements, access to services, laws and rules protecting conflict and disaster affected people
- Organize and facilitate protection meetings/info sessions with multi-stakeholders (government, IDPs, host communities, CSOs)
- Organize and facilitate community-based gender sensitivity workshop and GBV orientation
- Organize radio Programme for IDP rights, entitlements etc
- Support international humanitarian law (IHL) and international human rights (IHR) advocacy products and events
Objective 2: Identification and provision of support to GBV cases to persons affected by conflict and natural hazards
- Conduct community based GBV sessions to develop confidential mechanism for GBV reporting
- Assist in provision of logistical support for referred cases (i.e., filing fees
- Provision of effective GBV care services through linking with service providers part of referral pathways (health services ie or mental and psychosocial health services, police and justice, and social services) based on GBV and protection risk analysis
Objective 3: Strengthen Advocacy to leverage additional and sustained assistance to GBV survivors
- Conduct Stakeholder mapping, coordination meetings and planning
- Organize and facilitate GBV Stakeholders Forum
- Updating, validation and dissemination of GBV and protection referral pathways, including updated or accurate directory with contact persons for agencies/organizations
Objective 4: Increase access to legal documentation services
- Conduct mobile legal missions for reconstruction of lost civil documents
- Legal Assistance to Individuals- PSA Verification Fees (Regional and National Office)
- Coordination with LGUs, LCR, etc. to facilitate documentation assistance
Objective 5: Enhance knowledge, skills, and attitude of community-based protection monitors
- Conduct training of community-based protection monitors
- Identify training needs of participants including related to GBV and protection
Objective 6: Coordination, collaboration and synergies
- Ensure planned activities are closely coordinated and consulted with local GBV service providers, community leaders and clusters
- Coordinate and ensure Action Against Hunger’s sectoral interventions/activities are complementing each other and providing assistance to GBV survivors and most vulnerable IDPs and returnees
- In coordination and consultation with the Head of Project, ensure proper coordination and information sharing with LGUs, stakeholders and consortium members and implementation and approaches and adopted to local context.
Objective 7: Ensure proper monitoring and reporting of activities
- Report to the Head of Project issues and challenges faced in the field and implementing the activities and context related issues affecting the planned activities
- Update Head of Project on the progress and achievement daily and weekly
- Ensuring the quality of the GBV and protection data collected from the field
- Make suggestions/recommendations to Head of Project on readjusting the program based on the results and the context, as needed
- Participate in assessment, collecting and entering data and their analysis, including timely archiving of SOVs
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Social work, or related field
- Technical knowledge:
- Knowledge on gender-based violence, case management, survivor-centered and trauma-informed approaches, gender equality, Protection Minimum Standards in Emergencies
- Familiarity with the local culture, ability to develop respect from a wide range of people and strong ability to communicate effectively on GBV and protection issues.
- Work experience with local government related to GBV or gender equality, social welfare or international/ local NGOs in humanitarian setting
- Experience of at least 2 years in a similar position
- Excellent English and Filipino language. Can speak Maguindanaon and Maranao is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Windows Office package
- Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.
