The Finance Associate (G6) will support the Master Data Management Team in the delivery of quality, efficient and secure Master Data Management services. The Finance Associate will have a thorough understanding of risk areas associated with Master Data Management and will act upon detecting suspicious transactions. The Finance Associate will take corrective actions ensuring adherence to procedures and related policies and be responsible for maintaining up to date standard operating procedures.

The Finance Associate (G6) will support the Master Data Management Team in the delivery of quality, efficient and secure Master Data Management services. The Finance Associate will have a thorough understanding of risk areas associated with Master Data Management and will act upon detecting suspicious transactions. The Finance Associate will take corrective actions ensuring adherence to procedures and related policies and be responsible for maintaining up to date standard operating procedures.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities/competencies:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Master Data Management Team and coaching team members on Master Data Management processes, relevant policies, procedures and tools.
- Review and approve transactions and ensure they are processed in compliance with SOP’s, Internal Controls with particular attention to the risk or fraud or financial loss.
- Identify suspicious transactions, perform detailed analysis of the case and report to the manager.
- Acts as a focal point for all escalations related to risk bearing transactions.
- Support changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Manage Knowledge sharing activities including the development of team skills, processing infrastructure and documentation.
- Demonstrate flexibility, developing alternate plans in rapidly changing situations, uncertainty and adversity.
- Analyze and exercise judgement in challenging situations in the absence of specific guidance.
- Integrate closely with other streams and initiatives to achieve joint objectives.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Education:
- Completion of Secondary education is required, supplemented by technical courses related to the scope of the job is required. A university (Bachelor’s) degree in a relevant field is an asset.
Experience:
- A minimum of six years of progressively responsible work experience in Finance is required. A completed BA degree from an accredited institution qualifies as 3 years’ experience and will be counted towards work experience requirements.
- A minimum of two years of work experience in the field of Master Data Management is an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Master Data principles, potential risks, processes, cleansing and understanding the integrity and scrutiny of Master Data is required.
- Excellent knowledge of SAP and MS Excel is required.
Language requirements:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
Applicants must be nationals of Hungary or other EU/Schengen country OR in the possession of a valid long-term Hungarian residency and work permit. Temporary and/or sponsored visas are not accepted. UNICEF GSSC does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff, applicants must be holders of acceptable permits already at the time of application.
