Background
 
The Enterprise Application Development (EAD) unit of the Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for developing sustainable and affordable IT solutions to meet UNOV/UNODC requirements, also enabling availability of the solutions more generally across the UN Secretariat entities.
 
 
Job Purpose and Organizational Context
 
The India Technology Hub (ITH/EAD) based in New Delhi forms part of the ITS's vital delivery pillars. It keeps up with the UN's revised ICT strategy. As part of this strategy and under the Head – ITH; the Graphics Designer will work with a team of highly motivated software development professionals on various applications - development, enhancements, management, and deployment tasks.

 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Head – Technology and Solutions, the Graphics Designer will be responsible for the following duties: 
  • Visualize and create engaging and interactive designs/layouts for e-learning courses to be used on multiple devices; 
  • Provide advice on subject matters under development and help with the creation and visualization of interactive designs/layouts for e-learning courses to be used on multiple devices. 
  • Provide expertise and advice in brainstorming and conceptualizing ideas, with the ability to produce quick sketches. 
  • Advice and provide expertise for Animation/motion graphics projects. 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the design team to come up with unique and engaging creative experiences. 
  • Lead discussions on ideas for designs, graphics, illustrations, and animations with team members before provisioning them for the final production. 
  • Provide training and guidance to associate Graphic designers and Animators on various aspects of graphical production. 
  • Producing digital guides and final products for end-users. 
  • Communicate effectively with the development team. 
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders during the project lifecycle; 
  • Work is in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment 
  • Ensures data security and integrity

Required Skills and Experience 
 
Education:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from a recognized university.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three (3) years (with a Master’s degree), or a minimum of five (5) years (with a Bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national and/or international level in graphic designing.
  • Experience in Graphics designing for eLearning using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects would be an added advantage.
  • Experience of working with Non-Profit sector is desirable.
Language:
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is required.
