ABOUT THE JOB
Economic Recovery Assistant is responsible to ensure the high-quality delivery of specialized project activities requiring skills sets (for instance, implementation of Economic Recovery/Livelihood activities). Project activities and deliverables will be determined in line with DRC and donor polices and guidelines. Besides, EcRec Assistant objective is to achieve overall project activities. Particularly beneficiary assessment, provide support to EcRec Officers for financial literacy, business development management and climate adaptation trainings to men and women agribusinesses including he/she will be visiting to monitor/supervise partner activities and will have contribution in implementation of infrastructure and CFW projects. Additionally, he/she will be contributing to market assessment, and coordination internally (emergency, protection, HMA, MEAL and Support services department) and externally (with communities, and other related stakeholders) and will report directly to EcRec team leader/Manager.
Responsibilities:
Technical responsibilities
- Responsible for beneficiary assessment and verification with the consideration of MSMEs, Agribusiness and Cash for work criteria and SOPs.
- Contribute to develop and enhance the capacity of identified beneficiaries through.
- Participating in developing business development training and financial literacy manuals and materials.
- Support EcRec Officers to provide financial literacy, business management training and technical support for climate adaptation.
- Provision of financial support (business grant) to men/women led agribusiness and MSMEs after verification of business plans.
- Organize marketing events and mobilize farmers and groups to form marketing associations.
- Ensure, Market assessment is carried out whenever required.
- Facilitate establishment and strengthening of vital market linkages between producer and other vital value chain actors in the project areas.
- Follow up supported Agribusiness and MSMEs beneficiaries through.
- Conduct regular follow up and coaching for beneficiaries.
- Identifying their problems and provide support in the revision of business plans.
- Support EcRec infrastructure team for the identification of community level infrastructure with the consideration of infrastructure selection guideline.
- Supervise and contribute to implement infrastructure projects according to the instruction of technical engineer, and supervisor.
- Supervise and implement CFW labors and the progress of the infrastructure and Cash for work projects.
- Maintain and ensure the quality of infrastructure, safety rules and PPE kits for the laborers.
- Keep the overall records and documents clearly and updated.
- Report to EcRec Team Leader and manager during the implementation of activities.
- Any other task assigned by line manager.
Supervision:
- Conduct regular supervision of crop production and livestock management training to the farmers.
- Monitor the establishment of greenhouses, kitchen gardening and livestock husbandry.
- Supervise the structure, and progress of village economic and social associations in the communities.
Coordination
- Keep Close communication and coordination among EcRec team and intersectoral of DRC.
- Keep close and clear communication with community leaders, representative of relevant stakeholders, Labors, and suppliers at field level.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you must have:
Experience and technical competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agriculture, engineering, economics (related subject is an asset)
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience within a humanitarian organization, especially implementing Livelihoods interventions oriented to agribusiness, micro enterprises, and cash for work activities.
- Demonstrated experience in providing training and mobilizing communities.
- Demonstrated experience in projects including cash grants for business is an asset.
- Computer skills, particularly MS Office; Excel and Word
- Able to travel hard to reach districts and other provinces.
Education/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agriculture engineering, Economic or related subjects is an asset.
