Functional Responsibilities
The duties of the Security Guard include but are not limited to:

Provision of security coverage at entry points throughout the United Nations Premises and at the annex buildings to prevent entry to unauthorized persons and the unauthorized removal of UN property.

Performing indoor and outdoor duties on site as per SOPs of the designated post.

Document all incidents on site relevant to the UN in Daily Activity Report (DAR) and ensure secure storage of any such documentation.

Take a proactive approach in ensuring the continuous security and safety of UN Premises.

Report damages and failures to facilities department and other appropriate contacts.

Assist employees, guests, and contractors on site in complying with security policies, including ensuring the enforcement of UN Premises control and access procedures.

Assist in case of emergencies and evacuations. (To be dispatched by Security Communications Centre (SCC)).

Act as the Assisting Smoke Diver and participate in that function during an emergency.

Participate in the 24/7/365 shift rotation between SCC, patrolling and access control.

All officers are required to undergo training enabling them to backfill other security departmental task and functions without operational disruption (cross training)

Ensure continuous operation of the on-site CCTV and access control systems.

Monitor all available alarm and surveillance systems and take immediate and appropriate action when needed.

Document all incidents on site by active use of CCTV and assure secure storage of such documentation.

Report any security incident to the SA/DSA.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
A Secondary degree and/or mandatory AMU-course for Security Officers or relevant UN, police, military, or Fire Department training is required.
Experience:
A minimum 2 years of relevant experience with the UN, a security company, the police, the military, or the Fire Services is required.
Driving license from the appropriate issuing authorities.
Language requirement:
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required.
Knowledge of another official United Nations language and/or Danish is an advantage
