Result of Service
The consultant will produce graphic products, including infographics (fixed and animated), social media cards, mails and brochures. A related group of 3-5 graphic products or variations will be considered a single deliverable product (for example, a set of social media cards). The consultant will provide guidance on the implementation of the communication strategies for the visibility of the Latin America & the Caribbean Office, including activities pertaining to the Chemicals and Pollution sub-programme and the Zero Waste in the Caribbean project, and campaigns related to UNEP’s other areas of work. The consultant will deliver the following products: Product No. 1: Six (6) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including adapting HQ reports such as Adaptation Gap 2025, regional workshops and activities, preparations for Wildlife Day 2025, and planning and implementation of final design assets and compilation of activities. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes preparing the ZWC project quarterly newsletter bulletins (3), including the editable version. Product No. 2: Eight (8) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including World Wetlands Day 2025, Women’s Day 2025, regional workshops and activities, planning and development of graphic and web materials. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes 6 social media cards for the ZWC project, including the editable version. Product No. 3: Six (6) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including Biodiversity Day 2025, Water Day 2025, Mountains Day 2025, Goodwill ambassadors, Zero Waste in the Caribbean graphic and web materials and Caribbean Biological Corridor. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes revisions and updates to 16 country factsheet flyers (2 pages each) for the ZWC project, including the editable version. Product No. 4: Five (5) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including preparing content and research for adapting HQ reports such as Emissions Gap 2025 graphic concepts and planning. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes revising and updating 1 toolkit print-ready page and 4 educational toolkits print-ready (prep., primary, high schools and University) for the ZWC project, including the editable version. Product No. 5: Five (5) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including Desertification Day 2025, Biodiversity flagships bacth for 2025 and City Flagships batch for 2025. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes producing 3 factsheet brochures (for different regional sub-programmes), including the editable version. Product No. 6: Five (5) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including materials around World Environment Day 2025 and Oceans Day 2025, preparing templates for mailing lists, newsletters, and web designs. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes updates to the ZWC Project’s booklet with achievements and progress (including contents for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) and the related yearly brochures (3), including the editable version. Product No. 7: Six (6) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including regional workshops and activities, and planning and implementation of final design assets and compilation of activities taking place during 2025, such as other International Days, ZWC meetings, and Forum of Ministers ad-hoc sessions. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes preparing ZWC project social media video clips, including the editable version. Product No. 8: Eight (8) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including Youth Day 2025, regional workshops and activities, planning and development of graphic and web materials. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes 6 infographics and animated carousels for the ZWC project, including the editable version. Product No. 9: Six (6) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including UNGA 80/2025, goodwill ambassadors, Zero Waste in the Caribbean graphic and web materials and Caribbean Biological Corridor. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. Product No. 10: Five (5) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including preparing content and research for COP30 in Belém, Brazil, graphic concepts and planning. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes graphic and web updates for the ZWC project, including the editable version. Product No. 11: Five (5) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including COP30 in Belém, Brazil, coverage. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. This batch also includes graphic, web and print updates for the ZWC project, including the editable version. Product No. 12: Five (5) animated/fixed/video infographics related to UNEP´s milestones in LAC, including materials around UNEA7 in Nairobi, Kenya, preparing templates for mailing lists, newsletters, and web designs. Components include providing editable versions in AI, vector or Canva formats, and templates that can be reused. Specific Tasks: These products include developing editable design files and templates that can be reused by other members of the team, namely on AI, vector or Canva formats. Products include brochures, infographics, factsheets, newsletters, social media cards, tailored publications, flyers and booklets, specific to the ZWC project, and applicable to other programmes and activities which could make use of them. Provide technical guidance, production, and follow-up of multimedia graphic campaigns for UNEP, including a focus on the ZWC project carried out from Kingston, Jamaica. Provide recommendations on best practices and carry out requested revisions in order to effectively meet the objectives of the project's graphic campaign.

Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for global environment. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP Latin America and the Caribbean Office (LACO), located in Panama City, Panama works closely with the 33 countries of the region and its activities are integrated into the Medium-Term Strategy and the Programme of Work approved by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA). The regional office needs a consultant that can produce infographics (both still and animated/musicalized), tailored publications, factsheets and videos for use in diverse formats, with relevant information of UNEP’s specific areas of subprogrammes’ – with a focus on the Chemicals and Pollution sub-programme and the Zero Waste in the Caribbean project – work, as well as global campaigns and key events in the LAC region. The consultant will do the necessary research/edition of information to create initial proposals and scripts for the different products; will share drafts and adjust them after revision of the Regional Communication Unit in UNEP LACO and prepare products in a variety of formats for wide dissemination. The work will be supervised by the Head of the Regional Communication Unit in UNEP LACO and the incumbent will work home based.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic: • Bachelor´s Degree in graphic design, visual communication, multimedia, web design or related field is required. Professional: • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in graphic, multimedia, or digital design, and the use of relevant design software suits such as Adobe CS and similar, or related field is required. • Experience working with intergovernmental organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean region is desirable.
Languages
• Fluency in Spanish is required • Confident Level of English is desirable.
