Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non- governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Under the overall supervision of the CBP Officer, the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant (Community Hosting), and in close coordination with other colleagues, the successful candidate will conduct all steps of the case management process for the assigned cases.

In close collaboration with embassy representatives, local NGOs and IOM Senior Protection Assistant (Community Hosting) identify suitable placement options for vulnerable migrants in host families or in other safe accommodations (safe shelters etc.).

Organize meetings with Community Leaders and promote the identification of new alternatives to detention options, including expansion of the current family placement options.

Identify vulnerable individuals eligible for alternatives to detention in coordination with protection case workers and embassies of country of origin and upon referral from partner organizations and other IOM units.

Monitor the host families on weekly basis to flag any urgent needs to assigned CM staff members and the Senior Protection assistant (community hosting)

Under the guidance of Senior Protection Assistant, manage and record the host families’ weekly updates and other housing solutions using the appropriate formats.

Identify and support community focal points/representatives/host families to participate in community-based protection programmes and conduct monitoring visits of individuals placed in alternative housing solutions.

Work on host family identification, regular monitoring visits, contracts, and payment

Conduct regular distribution for host family and individual referred cases.

Provide information on available services to vulnerable migrants such as victims of trafficking (VoTs), UASCs, survivors of GBV and/or other violence etc;

Assist with informal translations of documents, information, and data as well as do oral interpretations to and from English and Arabic (French is considered an advantage) as necessary and as requested.
