Result of Service
- An agreed workplan that aligns with global and country strategic communications goals, including campaigns and activities to engage with local audiences on UN priorities, coordination of public information activities, monitoring, and reporting on progress. - In collaboration with the RCO Data and Monitoring Officer, support the drafting of the UNSDCF annual report, including liaising with the UN Communications Interagency Group and developing a comprehensive outreach and communication strategy for the report. - Develop at least 20 digital content assets per month, which will consist of: • Infographics to effectively communicate key messages. • Visuals for promoting UN events and initiatives. • Design, production, and dissemination of graphic and audiovisual materials for digital platforms. - Coverage of at least 8 high-level events and meetings per month, including: • News articles and products for web and social media as well as for mass media outlets as relevant. - Maintaining UN communications channels up to date, ensuring: • Timely, accurate, and engaging content that aligns with UN branding and messaging guidelines. - Provide communication support to RC/RCO, such as for the drafting of the new UNSDCF communications strategy, coordinating the work of the UN Communications Group, digital communications and other related communications tasks as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
This role is critical in raising awareness of the work of the United Nations in Panama. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and implementing communications activities, developing draft communications strategies and workplans, creating public information content for web, social media, media outlets and other key publics, aligned with UN International Days, key reports and other UN global and country priorities.
Qualifications/special skills
· Proven experience developing digital content, including creating and editing multimedia materials for social media using tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, CapCut or similar platforms. · Experience in graphic design creating content such as infographics, visuals, and promotional materials tailored to print and digital platforms. Proficient use of graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign, Canva or others, particularly in creating multimedia content for digital marketing and social media campaigns. · Experience capturing and editing high-quality photographs during high-level events and meetings, ensuring visuals are aligned with communication goals and suitable for digital and print media. · Fluency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required. · Previous experience with United Nations agencies, programs, and funds is desirable. Five years of experience in communication, including experience in writing for the web and social media and/or mass media is required.
Languages
English and Spanish are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, excellent skills in Spanish writing and speaking, and fluency in English is required.
