About The Role
Regional Officer – Asia Region
Location: London (hybrid between home and office) supporting our offices in Asia
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week (typically Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm)
Salary Range: £28,087 - £29,210 (plus London Weighting, £3,344, if applicable) per annum
Are you an international humanitarian / development professional? Could you provide an essential information link between our British Red Cross UK Head Office and our regional teams in Asia?
A day in the life of a Regional Officer will involve:
Working closely with senior regional staff to develop, monitor and report on our regional and international strategies. Working across a dynamic and challenging portfolio of projects, you’ll manage and strengthen our partnerships and our localisation ambitions.
You’ll take a leading role in the systems and processes around how we design, manage and report on projects. Thus, delivering high-quality products, driving continuous improvement, and supporting team members.
You’ll work to ensure we can gather and analyse information to communicate about humanitarian contexts and our impact on them. Relaying your findings to various audiences and stakeholders (both internally and externally). You’ll ensure good flow of information and facilitate timely decision-making, especially in the case of disaster and crisis response in the region.
To be a successful Regional Officer, you’ll need:
- To share our enthusiasm for localisation within the humanitarian sector and working with national/community-based organisations.
- A good understanding of the region and the international humanitarian system. You will have experience of working (or volunteering) in humanitarian or international development contexts, either within programmes or policy.
- To demonstrate your commitment and contributions towards inclusive practice, challenging discrimination and promoting diversity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes facilitation, presentation and report writing for a variety of audiences.
- You will have experience of stakeholder management and partnership or collaborative working across multiple teams (many of which will be remote). You will also have experience of working with FCDO, DEC and other donors.
- You will have great administrative, project/programme management and IT skills. Including all basic MS office packages and the maintenance of spreadsheets and financial databases or systems accurately.
