Functional Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery and Performance
  • Support the Programme Management Advisor in the development and strategic alignment of food security interventions and plans with LIFT’s 2024-2028 Strategy.

  • Implement food security and nutrition assessments, ensuring adherence to methodologies and the accuracy of collected data.

  • Manage the maintenance of food security analysis tools, ensuring the integrity, quality, and accuracy of data.

  • Implement complex food security, nutrition, markets, and resilience analysis, producing timely reports to inform strategic decisions aligned with LIFT’s goals.

  • Prepare materials and reports related to relevant assessments, ensuring clarity and coherence of key findings aligned with the nutrition strategy.

  • Provide technical support to programme teams on food security-related matters, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to best practices, policies, and strategies.

  • Engage in field visits as required to provide relevant support to project implementation in the subject area.

2. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Coordinate the engagement of both internal and external stakeholders in food security assessments and initiatives.

  • Lead the organisation of meetings, events, and other food security analysis activities, ensuring optimal participation and effective communication.

  • Facilitate cross-team coordination within LIFT to ensure seamless execution of food security analysis.

  • Track and monitor the progress of food security activities, flagging challenges and issues to the Programme Management Advisor (Food Security Analysis) to ensure alignment with programme objectives.

3. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Prepare regular reports that integrate food security data, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives and donor requirements.

  • Significantly contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of food security activities, ensuring tracking of indicators and milestones is conducted systematically across teams.

  • Analyse data related to food security interventions, assessing their effectiveness and impact and ensuring results are accurately reflected in reports.

  • Provide timely, actionable updates to the Programme Management Advisor (Food Security Analysis) on the status of food security analysis and activities.

4. Capacity Strengthening, Knowledge Sharing, and Innovation
  • Champion capacity strengthening initiatives for LIFT personnel and partners, ensuring that food security analysis practices are understood and applied effectively.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within internal teams and across partners, ensuring the integration of best practices and lessons learned in food security analysis.

  • Contribute significantly to the development and dissemination of tools and resources designed to enhance food security assessment and analysis practices.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of activities, including reports, surveys, and meeting minutes, ensuring proper documentation for audits and reviews.

  • Promote innovative approaches to food security analysis, collaborating closely with the Programme Management Advisor to implement effective and efficient initiatives within the programme.


Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:

  • A Master’s degree, preferably in Economics, Food Security, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Nutrition, or other related field is required. 

  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor's), preferably in the above professional fields with additional two (2) years of relevant experience, could be considered in lieu of the Master´s degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, or coordination of programmes or projects in the following thematic areas: food security, public health, nutrition, or similar is required.

  • Experience in food security analysis, vulnerability analysis and mapping, nutrition assessments, or similar assessments is required.

  • Demonstrated skills in generating and compiling high-quality reports is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with diverse partners and external stakeholders is an asset.

  • Experience working with the UN or international organizations is highly desirable.

  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (e.g. MS Office newer versions, Google Suite Applications) is required.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

  • Proficiency in Burmese is required. 

  • Proficiency in other Myanmar languages is an asset.
