About this position
We are looking for an organized, proactive, adaptable Project and Operations Support Consultant. As Project and Operations Support Consultant, you will provide technical and administrative functions across all stages of the project cycle and in the preparation of other programs and products comprising the Bank's work in Barbados.
You will work in the Country Office Barbados Operations team, part of CCB department. This team is responsible for the alignment of the efficiency and development effectiveness targets of the Bank and to the country's development agenda.
What you’ll do
Project Support Functions (50% of the time)
Assess the current reporting requirements for the Public Sector Modernization Programme (PSMP) BA-L1046, including the Digital Transformation of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital BA-G1006 to develop and implement a strategy to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting to internal and external partners.
Support the monitoring and coordination activities of the Programme
Support the preparation of the reports required under the Programme
Provide general and miscellaneous support to enhance the effective performance of the Program reporting and commitments
Providing inputs to and reviewing of relevant documents as requested
Operations Support Functions (30% of the time)
Prepare correspondences for output for assigned projects
Support the planning and preparation of events
Provide back-up support for processing transactions
Administrative Support Functions (20% of the time)
Implement and maintain the IDB’s Records and Information Program in relation to the Operations
Review, file and verify the classification of official documentation
What you'll need
• Education: Bachelor degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Applied Sciences, Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Development Studies or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
• Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in Project Management coordination and stakeholder engagement. A good knowledge of the IDB's operational and fiduciary procedures and guidelines would be an asset.
• Languages:
- Proficiency in English
Core and Technical Competencies: Project planning, project management, project supervision, and/or monitoring and evaluation. Excellent oral and written communication skills and solid interpersonal skills.
Requirements
• Citizenship:
- (IDB - National) You are either a citizen of Barbados or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Barbados,
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
• If consultant (Local Remote Modality): The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank‚Äôs office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank‚Äôs Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank‚Äôs office. Access to the Bank‚Äôs systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.

• Consultant:
- National consultant: National consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
