POSITION SUMMARY
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Regional Senior Associate will support GGGI's Caribbean program and Country teams and will be based in GGGI's Guyana office in Georgetown. Under the guidance of the Caribbean Representative, he/she will be responsible for driving the Program's communications activities by supporting the development of communication strategies and plans for the Program and projects, including content development, media engagement, communication, knowledge sharing, advocacy, and outreach activities in an inclusive and environmentally sustainable manner. The role is aligned with and will support GGGI's wider Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing goals.
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Regional Senior Associate will also manage day-to-day tasks, including social media content development, public relations, and project communications activities, as well as support for meetings preparation, onsite events, and other pertinent tasks.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Communications and Knowledge Sharing Regional Senior Associate is to:

Lead the creation and implementation of communication strategies for the Caribbean region, ensuring GGGI's positioning and visibility in its operating countries.

Oversee branding and event organization at country and regional levels to highlight GGGI's priorities, programs, and impact.
-
Develop and consistently update project factsheets, messages, visualizations, and publications, ensuring alignment with GGGI and donor guidelines while adhering to the organization’s brand and visual identity.

Coordinate and manage communication and knowledge-sharing interventions, events, and campaigns, adhering to GGGI’s policies and principles and maximizing their effectiveness.

Oversee publications relevant for the Caribbean, including supporting technical teams to develop production TORs, proofreading, design, and dissemination, while aligning with global communication and knowledge sharing standards and guidelines.

Monitor and synthesize relevant news and research for Caribbean programs to craft key messages for GGGI staff and stakeholders.

Manage Caribbean communication staff and collaborate with GGGI’s global communication and knowledge sharing teams to design and deliver impactful initiatives.
ENGAGEMENT
The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Regional Senior Associate is expected to:

Engage with Caribbean and country program teams while supporting the engagement of partner government ministries/agencies to ensure all materials, including jointly branded ones, are aligned with GGGI’s communications policies and guidelines.

Guide all country-based communication and knowledge-sharing focal points to follow quality and branding coherence, as well as supporting country-based initiatives by elevating them to regional/global levels.

Work closely with MEL teams across Caribbean countries to draw out insights, lessons learnt for external communication and knowledge sharing purposes.

Collaborate with GGGI HQ Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit and other Event Teams to facilitate the country or Caribbean outreach and communications and knowledge sharing activities. Member of the Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing team

Collaborating with other units and divisions of GGGI to ensure integrated delivery as One GGGI.

Work closely with Caribbean program and Country team staff and support the engagement of the partner government/ministries/agencies to ensure all materials, including jointly branded ones, comply with our communications guidelines.

Coordinate and liaise with external vendors (e.g., printer, designer, etc.) to produce campaigns and marketing packages.
DELIVERY

Develop and implement audience-focused communication and knowledge-sharing strategies that align with GGGI and project goals, ensuring consistent dissemination to target audiences.

Generate compelling content across multiple channels (e.g., social media, newsletters, videos) and produce high-quality publications, ensuring adherence to branding and safeguarding guidelines.

Manage external communications, engage with local journalists, and organize knowledge sharing activities to support GGGI’s events, conferences, and workshops.

Build and maintain media relations in the Caribbean, develop media lists, pitch stories, and monitor media coverage related to green growth and climate sectors.

Measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives using KPIs, analytics, and feedback; provide regular reports and advice for adjusting strategies.
-
Create and manage innovative regional social media campaigns, draft and publish content, and maintain a creative resources library for the program.

Collaborate with partner governments, stakeholders, and program staff to address outreach and communication needs while identifying engagement opportunities.

Coordinate external vendors for marketing materials, manage creative resources, and support global communication teams in sharing lessons learned from GGGI programs.
-
Ensure that all communication and knowledge sharing initiatives are in line with GGGI’s gender and social inclusion policies and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (e.g., communications, journalism, public relations, international development, etc.)
-
Preferably, 6-7 years of work experience, with at least four years in communications and policy influencing campaigns; 4 years of experience can be considered with a relevant master's degree.

Experience in coordinating and delivering high-impact communication materials and organizing knowledge sharing events (including high-profile ones), preferably in a multilateral setting, is required.

Hands-on experience in producing communications collateral (using relevant software/tools, etc.) is required.
-
A strong grasp of issues and topics related to green growth, climate change, and sustainable development is highly desirable.

A good grasp of the Caribbean context is a plus, especially experience working with a regional organization, government, or private sector stakeholders.

Experience in external relations and liaison management in an international organization related to green growth and global development is a plus.

An excellent command of spoken and written English. The ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The Senior Associate is an X7 grade level in GGGI's Guyana salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 23,932 per annum, depending on qualifications, experience, academic background, and internal equity. GGGI contributes 15% of the base salary to the retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
