Purpose of the Role
The Senior Officer - WPE will provide effective and efficient administrative support to enable the smooth functioning of the WPE team. This position will support the WPE team in maintaining files, databases, and documentation. The Senior Officer – WPE will maintain up-to-date records of all procurement requests. The position requires a personal commitment to advancing women's issues and working on behalf of women and girls in the host and the Rohingya community. The person will coordinate closely with the wider IRC WPE and will be supervised by the Senior Program Manager – WPE.
Highlights of Key Responsibilities
- Effective administrative support to the WPE team including tracking expenses, processing bills and coordinating events and trainings.
- Assistant WPE team in maintaining files, database, and documentation.
- Support the WPE team and government liaison team to ensure timely submission of needs of assessment and compilation report.
- Take the lead on supply chain, finance, and logistics tasks in relation to the WPE team. Ensure purchase requests are made in a timely manner according to the procurement plan.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Maintain open, supportive, and professional relationships with all team members (IRC and partner organization).
- Ensure regular communication and close collaboration with the Senior Program Manager.
Coordination & Representation:
- Maintain effective working relationships with IRC team members.
- Represent the IRC WPE team in camp-based coordination forums, giving updates on WPE activities, wider guidance on survivor-centered approaches and advocating for the safety and well-being needs of women and girls in the response.
Other Duties:
- Extent additional support to the WPE team for any emergency/urgent assignments.
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience needed in the field of administrative area or program support of the GBV program.
- Professional experience in implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women’s rights/groups is desirable, not essential.
Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in GBV with a specific focus on supporting women and girl survivors
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients at all times is essential
- Experience facilitating trainings and workshops and mentoring others
- Positive and professional attitude, including the ability to lead and work well in a team setting
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
- Excellent communication and observation skills, including the ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, backgrounds and diversity
- Strengths in listening, empathy, flexibility, and creativity
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Language Preference
- People who are familiar with local culture and local dialects will get preference
Specific Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, gender or women’s studies, social work or other relevant/related studies, and /or professional experience in counselling and implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women’s rights/groups is preferable.
