About IRRI

Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.
Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager for Stakeholder Engagement, the Specialist will facilitate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-profile and country engagements to create opportunities for IRRI and potential donors, project partners, and collaborators. The Specialist will also work collaboratively with other IRRI sub-units and external stakeholders (e.g., local and national governing units, and country representatives) to ensure that partnership and engagement initiatives are properly implemented. S/he will lead and oversee meeting and logistics staff to ensure collaterals, programs, guidelines, and protocols are properly adhered to during the visit or program/event execution.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-profile and country engagements to create opportunities for IRRI and potential donors, project partners, and collaborators.
  • Provide technical recommendations in the conceptualization of engagements, including the preparation of programs, logistics, goal setting, milestones, and post-engagement evaluation.
  • Input data of visits and events into Salesforce to assign unique identification numbers to each visit, enabling easy tracking and management.
  • Work collaboratively with other IRRI sub-units and external stakeholders (e.g., local and national governing units, country representatives) to ensure engagement initiatives for partners and donors are implemented effectively.
  • Collaborate with other IRRI Communication and Engagement staff and departments to ensure engagement initiatives provide maximum positive exposure for IRRI.
  • Implement event plans to ensure adherence to set budgets, collaterals, programs, guidelines, and protocols during visits or program/event execution.
  • Conduct, collect, and evaluate post-engagement evaluations to ensure continuous process improvement
  • Evaluate visits through the Engagement Feedback and Evaluation Form.
  • Track and quantify key data in Salesforce
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Community Development, International Development,  or Public Relations with at least 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Master’s degree in Social Science, Community Development, International Development, or Public Relations with at least 1 year of relevant work experience
Skills Required

Mandatory

  • Experience in events management and planning (including budget monitoring, logistics, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of government protocols and guidelines

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international setting
