Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. IOM Libya has been assisting vulnerable migrants, IDPs, and vulnerable host populations, especially in detention centres and at disembarkation points, and organizing community outreach services for stranded migrants.
Under the guidance of the Field Health Coordinator and the Clinical Supervisor (South) in IOM Libya and the direct supervision of the Medical Store Manager in Tripoli, the incumbent is responsible for managing the medical warehouse in Sabha. The incumbent will provide professional assistance to the IOM MHD unit in smoothly implementing health activities and the various responsibilities

Ensure proper receipt of all pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and medical equipment in the IOM warehouse located in Sabha with good documentation.

Arrange timely transfer (if necessary, accompany) of all pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and medical equipment to different medical teams working in southern Libya.

Ensure proper receipt of all pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and medical equipment by all medical teams and the managers or designated persons from each health facility where IOM provides programmatic interventions.

Ensure the medical storage sites are clean and well-arranged according to the policies and instructions for each medicine/supplies.

Provide accurate documentation and calculation of drugs (maintain complete, up-to-date inventory) in the warehouse and update stock cards regularly.

Maintain high-quality stock cards in the warehouse and keep them updated regularly.

Keeping all warehouse management-related documents properly and updated.

Report all pharmaceutical-related activities regularly to the Medical Warehouse Manager based in Tripoli and the Clinical Supervisor.

Carry out weekly pharmaceutical stock checks, ensure communication on near-expired medicine, and report on time to the supervisor.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports on all pharmaceuticals and medical equipment supplies management issued and consumed and stock balances to the supervisor.

Attend training regularly to upgrade skills to improve pharmaceutical warehouse arrangement/services.

Assist in providing accurate documents on all pharmaceuticals during audits.

Ensure timely reporting of near-to-expire drugs for urgent actions to prevent them from expiration.

Inform the supervisor when the stock of goods is nearing the minimum or maximum threshold, and regularly provide the line manager with a list of the items with expiry dates within the next six months.

Monitor the temperature of the central pharma warehouse, including freezers and refrigerators, twice a day and ensure that products requiring cold chain (vaccines) are always stored at a suitable temperature (between +2°C and +8°C).

Maintain a temperature tracking log/Sheet updated.

Make sure the inventory system of the warehouse is organized and updated.

Inventory of stock regularly records its results in stock cards.

Checking stock card accuracy regularly.

Special care of those medicines needs special storage conditions like vaccines, high-priced medicines, and drugs with low flash points.

Ensure safe, clean, and proper storage of all medicine and other medical equipment within the pharma warehouse.

Attend coordination meetings related to pharmaceutical issues.

Provide first aid kits for the office and emergency kits for the vehicles travelling around.
Carry out any other task as assigned by the supervisor/manager.

-A minimum of two years for a candidate with a B.Sc. degree and five years for a Diploma in Pharmacy, with a demonstrable professional experience in the domain of management of stock of medicines and supplies in the health facilities primarily in the context of humanitarian situations; experience of working within the health system of Libya would be preferred;
-Experience in implementing health services for migrants, refugees, displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups, including early recovery or post-crisis emergency health programming, would be an added advantage.
-Working knowledge of MS Office.
-Effective organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and plans, ability to work under pressure and cope with deadlines;
-Good written and spoken communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
