Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate the full cycle for all MHPSS-related activities; includingeffective planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting in order to maximize MHPSS the program benefits and achieve programmatic synergies. Assures that all mental health and psychosocial services provided to Palestine refugees, especially children who have experienced trauma, gender-based (GBV), and domestic violence, Child protection cases and disability inclusion, are technically sound and effectively and managed; Provide technical guidance, support, and oversight to all MHPSS program and project staff engaged in the strategic and operational planning, and implementation of mental health and psychosocial activities, including the MHPSS coordinators, and School Counselors, among others; Establish and maintain effective referral mechanisms for refugees suffering from psychosocial trauma, protection issues, and other psychological conditions to appropriate services as necessary in collaboration with Protection, Health, Education, Relief, and Social Services Programmes Conduct, arrange, and facilitate regular technical training for UNRWA referral system staff as well as MHPSS mainstreaming workshops for programme managers in coordination with Protection, Education, Health, and RSS programmes to ensure the long-term capacity of LFO and front-line staff is built to deliver MHPSS services; Establishes and manages partnerships with pertinent local authorities and organizations, UN agencies, and regional MHPSS networks in coordination with the Head of Programmes, Area Education Officers, and Chief Area Officers to maximize psychosocial and protection services for Palestine refugees and UNRWA staff and achieve long-term sustainability of those services; Updates and provides consultation to AEOs (Area Education Officers) and collaborates with them on the implementation of the MHPSS area related plans and activities. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced University degree from an accredited institution in psychology, counseling, At least 7 years' experience in managing and/or coordinating mental health and psychosocial assistance activities in a sizable national or international organization. (For bachelor’s degree holders, additional 2 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Master's degree - total 09 years). At least three years in a leadership or senior managerial role, working across several departments.

Languages

Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
