Who we are

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We started our humanitarian work in Ethiopia with the opening of our first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. Since then, we have expanded our programs to different regions where there are significant needs for intervention and where we believe we can work in partnership with all relevant actors to bring sustainable positive outcomes for children’s and young people.

Today, we have grown significantly to meet the persistent challenges that confront Ethiopian children who have lost parental care and those that are at risk of losing their parental care. Working in close collaboration with international donors, local government and community based organizations across seven program locations; we aspire that every child grows up with love, respect and security.

Job Summary:

SOS CVE– STEP Addis Ababa project location in collaboration with selected woredas in Yeka and Gulelle sub cities will select youth to participate in outcome 01(one) of the project activities. i.e. young people got vocational skills/ short-term intensive training.

In today’s rapidly changing job market, equipping our youth with practical skills is essential for their personal development and economic empowerment. We are excited to announce a call for action to promote and uphold short-term vocational skill training programs tailored specifically for young individuals.

Main Objective is to recruit short-term vocational training institutions in car upholstery or Tapestry and maintenance, aimed at equipping young people (YPs) with hands-on skills that enhance their employability while creating job linkage opportunities in the automotive sector.

 

Call to Action:

 

We invite qualified vocational training centers or institutions to collaborate in designing and implementing car’s upholding/Tapestry short-term training for three months.The target oudience of the training is STEP project young people.

Key responsblities:

  • Providing Theoretical and Practical Training for our Young people’s car’s upholding/Tapestry short-term training.
  • Certification and Job Placement: Assist in recognizing the skills acquired and facilitating job placements for graduates (at least 40 % Job Linkage.)
  • Instructors and Mentors: Offer expertise and mentorship to guide trainees through their learning journey.

  • SOS Children's Villages in Ethiopia (SOSCVE) places safeguarding (children, youth, and adult safeguarding and asset protection) at the center of its concerns. The Organization is committed to ensuring that all children, young people and adults are safe, they are treated with dignity and respect, and all resources are used solely for the purpose for which they are given.
  • SOSCVE has Zero tolerance for any safeguarding concerns and provides proper response to any reported safeguarding concerns. Hence, the consultant/firms shall ensure that its employees/collaborators, as well as any other person involved in the implementation of the present contract, comply with the safeguarding policies and regulations. Therefore, potential winners (firms/individuals)
  • Complies with the rules and principles set out in the policies and regulations annexed to the agreement made.
  • Confirms that none of its employees, collaborators or associates are involved and/or have been involved in any way in violence, abuse, fraud, and corruption.
  • Accepts proven material breach of any provision of the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy, the Code of Conduct, Sexual Misconduct Regulation, Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption regulation shall automatically render agreement entered null and void and shall expose the perpetrator to legal action.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE REQUIRED.

  • 2+ years of experience in car upholding/Tapestry short-term training
  • Proven practical experience in designing cars upholding/Tapestry short-term training & job linkage.
  • Strong knowledge of training methodologies, instructional design, and career pathing frameworks.
  • Proven experience in delivering skills training on Tapestry and job linkages.
  • The training institutions should have a legally renewed license on car upholding/Tapestry short-term training.
