1. Planning and monitoring support -
Assist during the strategic planning and annual business planning processes by conducting various required analyses, data collections, generating reports and ensuring proper filing of the works; -
Support SSU and PMC Annual Work Plans development and monitoring exercise by preparation of the relevant tools, maintaining the documentation in proper format, reviewing of the underlying formulas for accuracy, periodically requesting the relevant SSU members to update the status of their AWP activities etc; -
Ensure timely compilation and submission of periodic and ad-hoc reports to the supervisor on the SSU’s performance against its key performance indicators (KPIs) or service delivery lead times through requesting underlying performance data, reviewing for accuracy of those data, working with the focal points on the corrections, and drafting and submitting the KPI reports for review and circulation. |
2. Internal control evaluation assistance -
Conduct background research, data collection and analysis for preparation of annual risks assessment, compliance review plans and follow-up of PMC’s issued recommendations and SSU action plans; -
In case of being assigned as a team member for a specific evaluations, document the results of those testing of the internal controls and ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of periodic reports on such evaluations; -
Work as team member on PMC ad hoc projects at the request of SSU Management; |
3. Administration support and knowledge sharing -
Effective and systematic maintenance and updating of SSU dashboards, shared portal and other commonly used internal documents; -
Providing secretarial support for regular and ad-hoc meetings of the SSU, both internal and external ones with other stakeholders; -
Assist in coordinating knowledge sharing sessions, as required, in terms of scheduling the meetings and workshops, preparing learning materials, presentation slides, etc. |
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
- Must be enrolled in a university programme such as Bachelor’s, Master's or Ph.D. (or the equivalent) or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the application date of the internship.
- Areas of study should relate to Business Administration, Commerce, Management (Project or other management areas), Accounting, Audit or overall Finance.
- Completion of bachelor’s level qualification in the above noted fields is desirable.
- Prior accounting, auditing or project management certification (such as PRINCE2, CIA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Applicants are not required to have professional work experience but experience working or volunteering in the field of project or programme management, compliance, risk management, external or internal audit, finance or accounting is desirable.
- Strong computer literacy in google suite applications or similar applications is desirable (significant exposure to MS Excel/Google Sheet application is mandatory).
- Ability to work in an international/ multicultural environment is desirable.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in written and oral English required.
- Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset
