Functional Responsibilities

The National Logistics Senior Associate is responsible for the successful implementation of project activities with a strong focus on logistics and operations. This includes:

Project Management:

  • Support the PM in implementing project work plans.

  • Report to the PM, potential risks, issues and challenges, and developing mitigation strategies.

  • Prepare regular progress reports and presentations to the PM.


Logistics Management:

Procurement & Logistics: 

  • Oversee the administrative process for the procurement of project materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations.

  • Administrative coordination with suppliers and contractors for timely delivery of goods and services.

  • Manage inventory and warehouse procedural operations, ensuring proper storage and handling of materials.

  • Procedural and administrative support in the Development and implementation of transportation plans for the delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.

Fuel Management: 

  • Act as liaison for procedural and administrative matters with the transportation company to manage daily fuel distribution to partners.

  • Support the tracking of daily fuel operations, inventory levels, and provide input on reports to management, including final operational summaries.

  • Liaise with suppliers, and contractors on the Palestinian side, to maintain operational and administrative requirements.

  • Provide operational inputs to fuel records, including agency vehicle lists, authorized personnel, and operational data.

  • Process partner fuel requests and prepare/submit fuel quantity requisitions to management.

  • Prepare and submit fuel quantity requisition requests to management.

  • Oversee fuel storage and distribution operations to ensure compliance with defined process and safety and quality standards.

  • Participate in field operations when necessary to ensure process efficiency.

Asset Management: 

  • Track and maintain project assets, ensuring proper utilization and maintenance.

Field Operations:

  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor progress, address administrative and operational challenges, and support the quality control.

  • Liaise with communities to facilitate project implementation.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant administrative procedures including those related to safety and security protocols.

Project Reporting:

  • Report daily to the Project Manager to provide data on findings and agree on a schedule for coming day(s)

  • Enter data into online databases regularly throughout the day “when needed”

  • Participate in weekly team meetings to identify common issues, risks, and lessons learned.

  • Attend weekly Logistic cluster meetings- when required.
