The Incumbent reports to: Senior Service Desk Officer
Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: 1. Assists with the provision of Information Management and Technology (IMT) end-user support services, including: 1.1 Receiving and handling requests for support following agreed procedures. 1.2 Responds to requests for support by providing information to enable incident resolution. 1.3 Promptly allocating unresolved calls as appropriate. 1.4 Maintains records and advises relevant persons of actions taken. 2.Prioritizes incidents and service requests according to defined processes to meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and alerts management to emerging trends in incidents. 3. Follows up on pending service desk tickets with users, updating them with progress and escalating with accurate documentation to suitable support staff, when required.; 4. Assists with the installation and upgrade of end-user IMT hardware, mobile devices and software; 5. Contacts vendors for ICT service requests of maintenance and for the purchases of consumable ICT supplies; 6. Prepares help sheets and FAQ lists for end users and contributes to knowledgebase as needed; 7. Creates and maintains inventory of IT assets and related components to be supported, including producing periodic asset reports and verifying status and locations. Ensures the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is updated with required IT assets information; 8. Complies with IMT policies, frameworks and standards, UN best practices and industry standards as well as relevant technical guidelines,; 9. Performs such other duties as may be assigned

Work Experience
A minimum of two years’ IT service desk relevant experience in a computer environment providing basic user support. Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment for 3 years; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need. Grade and Salary: Grade 10 Monthly basic salary USD1,050.20, payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate, plus a Jerusalem allowance payable in JD at UNRWA rate: a. The amount of this Allowance shall be NIS 2000 per month for each eligible Area staff holding Jerusalem ID and working in any of UNRWA installations in West Bank Field; or b. NIS 1000 per month for each eligible Area staff working in any of UNRWA installations in East Jerusalem and not holding Jerusalem ID. Other benefits: Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
