INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT FOR UPDATE OF GGGI STRATEGY 2030

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Total Fees : USD 36,000 / Daily Rate: USD 450 per day

 

PROJECT BACKGROUND

GGGI's Strategy 2030, approved in October 2019, provides a framework for achieving sustainable development goals and guiding the organization’s long-term priorities. A Mid-Term Evaluation (MTE) of Strategy 2030 is currently underway and will conclude by May-June 2025, informing necessary updates to reflect evolving global trends, member needs, and operational efficiency improvements.

To support this update of Strategy 2030, GGGI seeks to hire an Individual Consultant who will contribute to the development of the updated strategy, with a particular focus on leading workstreams such as stakeholder consultation, coordination with internal and external partners, and drafting key components of the updated strategy document.

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The consultant will be responsible for supporting the Strategy Unit in developing the Updated Strategy 2030 by:

  • Leading stakeholder consultations (internal and external) and ensuring broad engagement including designing and conducting surveys and interviews.
  • Assisting in background research and synthesis of insights from the Mid-Term Evaluation.
  • Supporting the drafting of key sections of the Updated Strategy 2030, integrating consultation inputs and evaluation findings.
  • Designing and Facilitating structured consultation workshops with country teams, regional offices, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that the revised strategy aligns with global trends, sustainability goals, and best practices in strategic planning.
  • Supporting the Senior Strategy Officer in coordinating workstreams and consolidating outputs.

 

DELIVERABLES AND SCHEDULE

The consultant will be engaged on the following key tasks with expected outputs:

1. Design & Facilitation of Consultation Sessions

    • Organize and moderate stakeholder workshops (internal and external).

2. Draft Sections of the Updated Strategy

    • Support drafting and revision of key strategy sections.

3. Finalized Consultation Summary Report

    • Document feedback and recommendations from consultations.

4. Support Finalization of Updated Strategy 2030

    • Assist in refining and structuring the updated strategy for Council submission.

GGGI shall pay the Consultant on a monthly basis for the actual number of days worked in a calendar month, subject to the terms and conditions of the Contract and certification by GGGI that the services have been satisfactorily performed. The Consultant shall submit a monthly invoice at the beginning of each month for the previous month's work, using the template provided. A timesheet must accompany the invoice for payment.

 

EXPERTISE REQUIRED

The consultant should have the following qualifications and experience:

1) Technical Expertise

  • 8-15 years of experience in strategy development, international development, or sustainability-related fields.
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and consultation facilitation.
  • Experience working with international organizations, multilateral institutions, or development agencies.
  • Knowledge of climate change, sustainability, green growth, and SDGs is an advantage.

2) Functional Competencies

  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills to draft clear, concise strategic documents.

3) Corporate Competencies

  • Commitment to GGGI’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural, interdisciplinary teams.
