About this position

The Staff Association is seeking a strategic, experienced, and forward-thinking consultant. As a consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and recommendations to the Staff Association in support of its mission to enhance employee well-being, productivity, and engagement.

You will work the IDB Staff Association (SAS), that is an independent entity committed to promoting the welfare of employees and representing the interests of its members before the Administration, acting as a liaison between staff and managers. The SAS serves people who serve the region, and that mission inspires us to do our best every day. Our main goal is to support all IDB Group employees and consultants during their journey through the organization and offer them the necessary tools to have a healthy work environment. At the Staff Association, we build community in an environment of friendship and cooperation, because we believe happy employees are more productive, energetic, and engaged. 

What you’ll do

  • Provide policy recommendations to select SA Committees
  • Advise on SA management issues aimed at enhancing advocacy
  • Provide policy and procedural advise to SA members related to the informal and formal conflict resolution mechanism
  • Review scope of SA services to ensure consistency with membership interests
  • Assess existing partnership agreements and provide recommendations to expand such agreements or identify new strategic partners
  • Provide technical inputs aimed at strengthening SA agreements with external partners
  • Provide recommendations to strengthen inter-institutional collaboration with other IFI staff representation bodies.

What you'll need

  • Education: Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Law, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of progressive experience in a role focused on policy / regulatory frameworks, staff representations and multilateral organizations.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish or English is required.

Requirements

•    Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

•    Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
 
 

Type of contract and duration

  • International consultant: Full-Time
  • Contract period: 7 months
