About this position
The Health Nutrition and Population Division (SCL/HNP) is looking for a Graphic Design professional to support the HNP Communications team.
The Social Sector (SCL) is a multidisciplinary team convinced that investing in people is the way to improve lives and overcome the development challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean. Jointly with the countries in the region, the Social Sector formulates public policy solutions to reduce poverty and improve the delivery of education, work, social protection, and health services. The objective is to advance a more productive region, with equal opportunities for men and women, and greater inclusion of the most vulnerable groups.
The Health Nutrition and Population Division (HNP) is tasked with the preparation and supervision of IDB operations in borrowing member countries in the areas of health (health capital investment strategies, health networks strengthening, health system financing, organization and performance, etc.) and nutrition.
What you’ll do
The consultant will develop the following tasks:
• Coordinate and/or develop graphic materials to communicate HNP Communications Plan, in line with IDB corporate identity/strategy. This includes, without being limited to:
o Managing the approval of external visual materials with both IDB Communications and Branding Departments, ensuring compliance with their guidelines.
o Design Social Media image packages in multiple formats, ensuring compliance with IDB Communications Department requests.
o Designing the visual concept for major annual publications and managing typesetting with vendors.
o Infographics of topics associated with the division's work.
o Help teams identify proper images for different themes of work.
o Developing graphic material for internal communication.
o Developing graphics for internal and external newsletters or mailings.
o Create editable Microsoft Office file templates (mostly in Word or Powerpoint) to support team’s needs for documents or presentations.
• Propose and coordinate visual concept of promotional activities.
• Provide graphic support or advice for presentations to authorities and technical specialists when defined as a division priority.
• Keep the photo library and video library with updated material.
• Keep websites and blogs updated with current visual material.
• Collaboration in the creation of photo reports and short videos of bank projects.
• Support in the development of audiovisual material by assuring visuals are in accordance to the bank brand guide.
• Provide specific support in logistics needs and communication products for the effective implementation of the Division’s Communication strategy.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design
- Experience: Two years of relevant professional experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in the field of communications
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
Requirements
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in without the need for sponsorship by the IDB.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
- Local Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank’s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank’s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank’s office. Access to the Bank’s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.
Type of contract and duration
• Consultant:
- National Consultant (Local Remote Modality), 12 months (up to 36 months).
If international: Headquarters (Washington, D.C), whereas if national 100% remotely from place of residence of selected candidate and services are expected to be provided from a country where the IDB Group has offices.
