About She Wins Climate:
Led by GEID with Climate and Tech teams, She Wins Climate supports women-led climate startups in emerging markets through: 1) We Fund Climate – a peer learning platform for climate fund managers on gender-lens investing; 2) Regional accelerator programs in ECA, South Asia, and Southeast Asia; and 3) Research and knowledge sharing events to address knowledge gaps and grow awareness.
Inclusive Climate Business & the Innovation Unit
GEID’s new Innovation Unit designs and scales advisory and investment tools to drive private sector action on inclusion. A key focus is the Inclusion-Climate nexus, building on the umbrella program (2023–25), which has advanced knowledge, research, and engagement on women’s role in climate transition.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
IFC is hiring an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to lead the She Wins Climate program (75%) overseeing project implementation, the peer learning platform and research, and managing regional coordination across the regions of implementation. The ETC will also provide cross-cutting support to the Innovation Unit on inclusion-climate initiatives (25%).
SCOPE OF WORK:
She Wins Climate Project Coordination and Implementation (75%)
The Consultant will act as the Program Officer for the She Wins Climate program the guidance of the Innovation Operations Officer and Gender Program Officer (MEPA). This role includes implementing the Peer Learning Platform and Research and coordinating with regional consultants implementing the Regional Acceleration Programs. Key tasks include:
• Project Governance: Oversee project governance, including budget, timelines, M&E, donor reporting, contracting, and communications (e.g. shared inbox, events). Liaise with internal/external stakeholders and lead execution of related events.
• Component 1 – Peer Learning Platform: Coordinate vendor-led activities for fund managers, ensure quality control of deliverables, and onboard the next cohort of participants and partners
• Component 2 – Regional Acceleration Programs: Collaborate with regional consultants to align implementation, report outcomes, and share lessons learned.
• Component 2 – Research: Develop research Terms of Reference, select and manage the technical vendor and strategic partnerships to carry out the research, and ensure data collection is integrated into the other project components. Oversee deliverables, peer review, and donor reporting.
Inclusive Climate Business Innovation Unit Support (25%)
Support operational work under the Innovation Unit to advance the Inclusive Climate Business program, including assisting with the following indicative tasks:
• Undertake market assessments and concept development for inclusive climate investment solutions.
• Support research deliverables under existing and emerging thought leadership workstreams.
• Develop and update internal knowledge products (e.g., portfolio review, case studies, toolkits, etc.).
• Organize and execute events related to inclusive climate business.
