Junior Expert Data Analytics & AI* 

in Bonn 

The position is to be filled by May 1, 2025, with a contract duration of two years. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

We are the fairly new Data Analytics & AI (D&A) team. In collaboration with colleagues from all areas of our organization, we develop solutions and approaches in the large cosmos of Advanced Analytics. Our strategic focus is on data-based learning. Your opportunity: You can be actively involved in building an organization-wide cloud data warehouse and analytics platform and gain fascinating insights from our data. You will be part of a dedicated, innovative team that drives data-driven decisions and always keeps the well-being of our organization in mind. Our challenges as an NGO are special: your stakeholders can be part of the donor service in Bonn or project managers* in our 37 project countries. There in the field, hurdles like power cuts or missing internet connections can make data collection difficult. It's not always easy, but challenging. Are you up for it? Your responsibilities

  • You develop and implement data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for data integration and participate in the connection of additional data sources
  • You define and implement data flows
  • You create and maintain data dashboards in close collaboration with colleagues from other departments to ensure a lean and efficient design
  • Contribute to the definition of data requirements for digital applications through interaction with solution architects and departments
  • Sourcing data from relevant sources and stakeholders across the organization
  • You drive value creation through data in terms of solution-oriented work and operationally support the development, creation and provision of dashboards and ad-hoc evaluations
  • You extract and interpret data to solve analytical questions
  • You will work on an independent project: Identification and implementation of a specific use case in the field of advanced analytics that uses AI methods to optimize processes and increase efficiency

Your profile

  • First and foremost, we are convinced by your personality: your passion for the topic of data analysis paired with your will to move the organization forward together with us.

  • You have a master's degree in (business) informatics, data science, (business) mathematics, software engineering or similar.

  • You already have knowledge of SQL and data warehouse modeling - in addition, experience with the Azure tool stack and MS PowerBI would make it easier for you to get started.

  • You are characterized by a high willingness to learn and openness for new things.

  • You also enjoy working in a team and taking on tasks independently.

  • You question processes and express your opinion.

  • Thanks to your quick comprehension and strong analytical skills, you are also willing to take on new tasks.

  • You are service-oriented, proactive and communicative, have high quality standards - but do not lose sight of your goal.

  • You work analytically and quickly and enjoy finding creative solutions.

  • English comes natural to you - Welthungerhilfe works in almost 40 countries; French is not a must, but would be an asset.
