Organizational context 

The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is a ministry of the Society of Jesus, acting as an international non-governmental organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate for the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people. The organisation was founded in November 1980 and now has a presence in 58 countries. JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support and guidance of an International Office (IO) in Rome. The style of JRS service is human and spiritual, working in situations of greatest need, seeking the long-term well-being of refugees and displaced people while not neglecting their immediate or urgent needs. The main services provided are in the field of education, reconciliation, livelihoods and psychosocial support.  

Operational Context 

JRS is looking for a Finance ERP Assistant to support Country and Regional Offices in the implementation and management of the accounting system MS Dynamics NAV / Business Central and its integration with other tools of JRS Information Management System (IMS). The Finance ERP Assistant will work on the development and maintenance of manuals and training materials on systems and procedures for the organization and will be involved in the delivery of capacity building sessions for JRS offices and new staff. 

Main responsibilities of the position 

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Officer and System Administrator and in close collaboration with the Finance team, the Finance ERP Assistant will: 

  1. System Administration & Support 

  • Provide responsive help-desk support to end-users for the MS Dynamics NAV/Business Central system 

  • Diagnose user problems and either provide solutions or escalate issues appropriately 

  • Manage user permissions and role assignments based on approved access requests 

  • Perform systematic checks on subsidiary companies to ensure correct system usage and configurations 

  • Validate and verify User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system updates and new features 

  • Support the transition from MS Dynamics NAV to Business Central, including implementation and training 

  1. Knowledge Management & Training 

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for the NAV/Business Central system 

  • Contribute to accounting manuals that align with JRS procedures and system functionalities 

  • Create and update training materials for system users 

  • Deliver training sessions to end-users on system processes and new functionalities 

  • Support capacity building for JRS offices and new staff members 

  1. System Development & Integration 

  • Assist the System Administrator with business requirements analysis 

  • Support data migration processes between systems 

  • Contribute to implementing new releases of custom package applications 

  • Support integration between MS Dynamics NAV/Business Central and other Information Management System (IMS) tools 

  • Test interface functionality between connected systems 

  1. Data Management & Quality Assurance 

  • Perform data set cleaning, validation, and consolidation from different sources or offices 

  • Perform intercompany analysis and support reconciliation processes 

  • Establish data quality control procedures 

  • Verify supporting documentation for financial transactions 

  1. Special Projects & Continuous Improvement 

  • Document recurring system issues and propose solutions 

  • Gather user feedback for system enhancements 

  • Research best practices in ERP implementation and support 

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives 

  • Perform other similar duties as assigned by the supervisor 

Qualification and Competencies 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance.  

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with ERP systems (preferably at Dynamics NAV or Business Central). 

  • Knowledge and background of IT desired. 

  • Experience working with end users and ERP Finance, Purchase, and Sales modules. 

  • Full Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint. Power BI desired. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Well organized, detail oriented. 

  • Capability to perform work independently, as well as in a team. 

  • Keen sense of ethics, integrity, credibility, and commitment to JRS mandate. 

  • Fluency in English.  

  • Working knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an asset.

Terms and Conditions 

Please note that this position is only open to candidates who possess EU citizenship or other legal authorization to work in the European Union. 

The contract is for a duration of 1 year, with a probation period of one (1) month. The position will be active as of July 2025.
