Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Associate Electrical Engineer will:

  • Support in quality control and assurance for electrical services works inclusive of solar energy components for the construction work for the GZDP.
  • Support in assessments and electrical services design work review and approvals for the incinerators project
  • Support in quality control and assurance activities for the electrical services installations for the projects, including stage testing and verification of activities
  • Completion sign offs for the GZDP works.
  • Contribute to the review of training documentation as required for the projects’ works implementation
  • Contribute to the reporting requirements for the projects’ electrical works.
The job holder will undertake periodic site visits (missions) to Masvingo and Bulawayo,Zimbabwe.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education
  • Secondary school diploma is required.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in the Electrical Engineering field with two (2) years of experience would be an asset and may substitute for additional years of experience required.

Experience
  • Minimum of Six (6) years professional experience in the Electrical Engineering field with Secondary School Certificate is required OR;
  • Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in the Electrical Engineering field with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience supervising electrical installations for vertical infrastructure construction works is required.
  • Experience in solar power installations is required.
  • Experience in oversight of mounting electrical installations at construction sites is required.
  • One (1) year of general electrical engineering related experience and solar power installation works at the national level in infrastructure or building projects will be an added advantage.


Language Requirements
  • Full working knowledge of English is required.
