Malteser International is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. For over 60 years we provide relief and recovery for people during and following conflicts and disasters around the world. In over 30 countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, we support people in need – regardless of their religion, origin or political convictions.

Since the start of the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014, Malteser International has been working with three local partner organizations in the sector of mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS). As a result of the Russian attack in February 2022, Malteser International has expanded its humanitarian activities in Ukraine with a strong partner focus to include relief distributions in war-affected areas – winterization – a scale-up of Mental Health and Psycho-social support – as well as social support and cohesion.

For its work in Lviv, Ukraine, Malteser International is looking for an Office Assistant - National Position.

As an Office Assistant, you will support the International Lviv office in day-to-day administrative and logistical tasks as assigned by the line manager. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Support in the issuance and return of assets to/from staff
  • Keep the assets records up to date both, the physical filing system and Excel version
  • Establish and maintain a list of contact details for preferred service providers including, electricians, generator servicers, etc.
  • Support Logistics Officer in day-to-day logistics activities in office and office storage management
  • Drive and oversee maintenance of vehicles, follow MI safe-driving regulations, and ensure each trip is recorded in the logbook
  • Maintain vehicle safety equipment as outlined in the vehicle safety kit e.g. first aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by your line manager

Your profile:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role (International/National NGO experience will be preferred)
  • Valid driving license B
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in insecure environments
  • Some practical experience in vehicle maintenance
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work 
  • Strong knowledge of Ukrainian language as well as good level of English (written and spoken)

What we offer:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duty Station: Lviv/Ukraine with frequent travel to other oblasts 
  • Duration of contract: One year (with the possibility to extend)
  • Salary according to qualification and experience, insurance package
