The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. You will work 20 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 15 Euro per hour.

Your responsibilities

• You will actively contribute to the development of data analytics and AI solutions based on cloud technologies. 

• You will create and update internal Power BI reports to further promote data-driven work at Welthungerhilfe. Our Power BI reports enable our stakeholders to better visualize and communicate their work and make data-driven decisions for the organization. 

• For the joint development of analytical products with the team, you will record processes and support stakeholders in an agile and interdisciplinary manner in order to convert data into insights. The aim is to evaluate data material to obtain information and solve problems. 

• You will set up and support the update and maintenance of our new data management system in Microsoft Fabric, including the translation of data flows and ETL procedures into SQL and Python as well as the development of state-of-the-art data protection procedures.

Your profile

You are the perfect person for our team if you 

• are a registered student, preferably in the field of (business) informatics, information technology, data science or a similar subject area and would like to put your theoretical knowledge into practice. 

• convince us with your personality through your passion for the topic of data analysis paired with your will to move the organization forward together with us. 

• are interested in IT and/or BI topics, are creative and like to make suggestions for improvement. 

• enjoy extracting insights from data that add value to the organization. 

• are quick on the uptake of new information, have strong analytical thinking skills and enjoy taking on new tasks. 

• have a goal- and result-oriented and independent way of working and a high degree of autonomy. 

• enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to express your opinion. 

• are fluent in English verbally and in writing because Welthungerhilfe works in almost 40 countries.  

• already have knowledge of SQL, Power BI, ETL processes in Python and Azure. Microsoft Fabric would be a plus.

• are very familiar with the common MS Office products, especially Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
