mobilization Your experience in strategic communications, partnerships, and knowledge mobilization will
be strengthened by your established networks across sectors in Canada and around the world, which
you will draw on to promote pluralism.
Founded as a joint partnership by His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV and the
Government of Canada, the Global Centre for Pluralism is an independent charitable organization based
in Ottawa that works globally to advance more inclusive, just, and peaceful societies. Through research,
education, and engagement, the Centre supports leaders, educators, and communities to practically
apply pluralism to address some of today’s most pressing challenges—from conflict and polarization to
systemic exclusion. Its programs include the Global Pluralism Award, the Global Pluralism Monitor,
Education and Leadership for Pluralism, and initiatives supporting civil society, governments and
peacemakers globally, helping to translate the values of respect and diversity into meaningful action
and policy.
As Deputy Secretary General, you will report to the Secretary General and serve as a senior member
of the leadership team, responsible for advancing the Centre’s global profile, influence, and resource
base. You will shape and implement high-impact communications strategies and outreach initiatives
that translate the Centre’s research and programming into compelling narratives, while strengthening
its position as a leading voice on pluralism. In this role, you will lead the development of a
comprehensive communications and outreach strategy and cultivate strategic relationships with
governments, international institutions, foundations, and civil society. You will oversee a talented
Communications and Public Affairs team, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and innovation in
strategic communications and knowledge dissemination.
The ideal candidate brings creativity, discipline, and strategic acumen to a leadership role. With a strong
background in pluralism, peacebuilding, democracy, or social justice, you have demonstrated success
mobilizing institutional partnerships, engaging diverse audiences, and driving impact through
communications. You have led teams with vision and empathy, and you bring an entrepreneurial
mindset to advancing mission-driven work. You bring an established international network, language
proficiency beyond English (French strongly preferred), and experience in both international and
Canadian contexts. Your intercultural fluency and political acuity make you a trusted partner, leader,
and representative of the Centre around the world.

work. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as the Centre believes that diversity strengthens its impact and effectiveness. As an equal opportunity employer, the Centre does
