Context

The UN Volunteer will work under the guidance and direct supervision of the Programme Specialist for Environment, the UN Volunteer will support research and data collection contributing to the formulation, coordination, and evaluation of programme activities within the Environment and Climate Change portfolio by managing data and facilitating programme implementation. The UNV promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.

The UN Volunteer will work in close collaboration with the staff and personnel of the Programme Unit, as well as with the operations and other project teams in the CO on cross-cutting programme related issues.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist for Environment, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

• Supports data collection analysis and synthesis of proposals on the areas for support and interventions within the Environment and Climate Change.
• Supports ensuring effective monitoring of management and programmatic targets.
• Supports drafting of background information for preparation of project documents, workplans, budgets, and implementation arrangements.
• Supports coordinating drafting mission and consultants’ agendas and terms of refer-ence and ensuring appropriate documentation is complete and distributed on time.
• Facilitates drafting correspondence related to the programme, follow up on it, and respond to queries on programme matters
