Overview of position

The Health and Nutrition Logistics and Administration Assistant is required to support UNICEF’s Health and Nutrition Mobile Teams to deliver their critical primary healthcare services in Gaza. This role will contribute to supporting the logistical and administrative arrangements for up to 40 mobile teams, based across the Gaza Strip. These arrangements include transport management, review of timesheets and payment requests, planning and organizing team activities, verifying team qualifications, spot checks and participating in follow-up meetings with UNICEF.

Role objectives
  • Mobile team transport management: Lead on supporting mobile teams with transport arrangements to facilitate their timely work.

  • Mobile team attendance sheets and payment management: Lead on organizing and verifying mobile team time sheets information incentive payments to facilitate their timely payments.

  • Reviewing of the mobile teams’ transportation sheet in terms of kilometers and fuel.

  • Mobile team meetings and capacity building needs: Support to coordinate mobile teams for meetings regarding updates and addressing capacity building needs.

  • Check supplies and coordinate timely supply delivery for the mobile teams

  • Supporting the nutrition team in the follow-up of the partners’ warehouses monitoring tools

  • Assisting in the creation of the supply distribution plans.

  • Support to collect, review and file the qualifications of mobile team members

  • Support to collect, review and file the qualifications of Primary Care Facility Staff

  • Support to collect, review and file declarations regarding conflict of interest and UNICEF disclaimers.

Payment linked to the deliverables:

  • Review payment requests for up to 40 mobile teams to facilitate timely incentive payments.

  • Review transport payment requests for up to 40 mobile teams and reconcile with mobile team activities to facilitate timely transport payments.

  • Review up to 40 Monthly Travel Plans prepared by the end of each month for the following period in consultation with respective mobile teams.

  • Monitor up to 40 mobile teams’ activities through the Inform Platform each month, reporting issues identified to relevant programme managers.

  • Submit a Monthly Activity and Progress Report (1-page) summarizing achievements.

  • Coordinate timely supply delivery for the mobile teams every two weeks.

  • Follow-up partner warehouses using UNICEF’s monitoring tools every two weeks.

  • Assisting in the creation of supply distribution plans every two weeks.

  • Collect, review and file the qualifications of mobile team members.

  • Collect, review and file the qualifications of Primary Care Facility Staff.

  • Collect, review and file declarations regarding conflict of interest and UNICEF disclaimers and update as needed.

Project reporting

H&N Logistics Extender will be required to provide frequent and ad-hoc reports as per the request of the supervisor.

Key competencies
  • A university degree is required in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health or related social science field is require.
