What you’ll do

Right now, we are looking for a Cost Controller Analyst for our Green Steel Mill team. In this role you will report to our Project Controls Manager and sit within our PMO function, to be based in Boden, Sweden.

This role will support our industrial project delivery by ensuring accurate cost allocation, supplier communication, and robust invoice verification across multiple EPCM partners. This role is key to securing financial integrity and timely payments while improving collaboration across vendors, contract managers, and internal teams. You'll play a central role in streamlining processes, ensuring transparency, and enabling effective financial tracking and cost control across the project

Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well.

  • Review and verify man-hours, travel expenses, and other reimbursable submitted by EPCM contractors such as McDermott, IDOM, Fluor, and others.
  • Ensure proper documentation and correct calculations for payment approvals, using ACC and in collaboration with scope owners and contract managers.
  • Coordinate the review and processing of owner’s cost invoices, ensuring correct cost center allocation and compliance with Stegra’s procedures.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding rejected invoices and coordinate the correction process, including credit note requests and follow-ups.
  • Develop and maintain a historical cost allocation record to facilitate the creation of accruals and track all project CAPEX payments accurately.
  • Conduct weekly audits and reviews with the Accounts Payable team to monitor progress and resolve delays.
  • Act as the liaison between Accounts Payable and Cost Control teams, supporting data flow and system updates in NetSuite.
  • Take initiative in improving internal processes and reporting systems.

What you’ll bring

You’re curious and believe that real progress happens when we work together. You’re not afraid to challenge old ways of thinking - and you treat others with respect while doing it. At Stegra, we value people who take initiative, build trust, and help create a workplace where everyone can do their best.

Specific to this role, we would like to see that you can tick off a fair amount of the boxes below

  • Background in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong experience in cost tracking, invoice review, or project accounting in an industrial or EPCM setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a structured and process-driven mindset.
  • Confident communicator with experience managing external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
