Your Position With TNC:

The Systems Analyst is a member of the Marketing Technology team and manages product needs of the Conservancy’s main content management system to support TNC’s flagship websites, nature.org and conservationgateway.org and help mitigate the risks of TNC’s growing digital universe and achieve Marketing’s goals.

Essential Functions:

The Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, and supporting the management of TNC’s marketing systems, product and services. Additional responsibilities include providing content management support and guidance around using our system to staff, prioritizing enhancements, bugs and new feature requests and quality assurance. The Systems Analyst serves as an additional technology execution lead for the Digital team managing small to medium scale digital projects and initiatives.  They work within the framework of the team’s objectives to meet internal Conservancy stakeholders’ needs. The Systems Analyst works closely with various constituents such as Conservation & Science staff, IT, program consultants and vendors to manage all phases of projects and tasks. 

Responsibilities & Scope:

  • Provide support in system administration to manage users, permissions, and configurations for specific product/systems.

  • Knowledgeable about the strategies, goals, actions and work processes of the business/system/service/operations s/he works with.

  • Work in lateral teams to provide guidance and specific expertise to business teams on products/systems

  • Conducts analysis of business or technical user needs, documenting requirements and develop system specification.

  • Coordinates with system stakeholders to request and prioritize system enhancements, bugs and new features.

  • Perform initial analysis as required to resolve a particular need for product shortcoming.

  • Support testing and QA for product enhancements and bug resolution.

  • Coordinate the deployment and implementation of product enhancements and bug fixes.

  • Develops communications and presentations for internal digital staff on project and system updates.

  • Coordinates trainings provided internally for digital software platforms. Keeps updated and proficient on technical changes within the system.

  • Participate in product management meetings and assist in the grooming and prioritizing product backlogs.

  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.  

  • Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks and projects.  May have full opportunity to direct individual projects.

  • Travel occasionally for training or retreats.  

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical discipline and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination.

  • Experience with customers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with MS Office suite software, including MS Word.

  • Experience using digital systems, including content management systems (e.g. Adobe Experience Manager) required.

  • Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.

  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.

  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.

  • Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in marketing.

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to translate basic business requirements into functional requirements.

  • Ability to adapt and/or modify processes in response to changing circumstances.

  • Familiarity and active participation in Agile events, including standups, backlog refinement and retrospectives.

  • Knowledge of Atlassian products such as Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence appreciated.

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive and write creatively for various audiences from technical information. 

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail. 

  • Relevant technology skills required to prepare presentations and analyze data to construct reports. 

  • Practical knowledge of marketing and branding principles.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $58,000 - $88,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
