Direct supervision will be exercised by the Senior PSFR Officer (New Business, Leadership Giving), who will provide guidance and advice. Collaboration within the wider PSFR team is essential to the success of UNHCR's PSFR strategy and therefore the post holder must establish collaborative working relationships both internally with staff across the organization and externally with donors and other key stakeholders. S/he will liaise externally with corporate and foundation leaders and their representatives; suppliers consultants, agencies and freelance advisors; and internally with the other LG units, the wider PSFR team, communication experts, field officers, program specialists, Bureaux/Desk staff and DRRM officers, as required; and externally with UNHCR global partners, suppliers, consultants, agencies and freelance advisors.

RESPONSIBILITY

§ As delegated by the Senior PSFR Officer (New Business, L.G.), develop initiatives with corporates and foundations to promote public awareness of refugees, displaced and UNHCR; obtain financial support for selected projects and programmes; secure in-kind donations of equipment, services related to the donor's core competencies, encourage employee giving and cause related marketing, and other partnership engagement as appropriate.

§ Identify and develop major national/regional and international new business opportunities and provide guidance to fundraisers in preparing tactical approach plans.

§ Provide training, guidance and support across the LG network on new business approaches.

§ Initiate and secure long-term mutually beneficial corporate and foundation partnerships from 'cold' to agreed income targets.

§ Develop compelling proposals and presentations for the LG network and prospective new partners that align with core business issues, leading meetings with a range of corporate and foundation contacts.

§ Develop and lead engagement plans to reach senior decision makers at a range of prospects, utilising senior volunteers where appropriate.

§ Negotiate national, international and global partnerships, including managing the contracting process and share best practices with the LG network.

§ Create and implement a Global Strategy for soliciting corporate and foundation prospects for emergency funding.

§ Keep aware of the fundraising and business environment and proactively develop new opportunities for PSFR, appropriately influencing the organisation to explore new models of partnership.

QUALIFICATIONS

§ University degree in business, marketing, social sciences, public relations, communications or a related discipline.

§ Minimum 8 years (6 years for MA degree holders) of relevant work experience in a not-for-profit organisation responsible for corporate fund raising.

§ Proven track record in building and maintaining LG partnerships and securing corporate and foundations fundraising support.

§ All round experience of corporate partnerships fundraising techniques including obtaining financial support for projects, securing in-kind donations, employee giving, consumer fundraising, cause related marketing and other forms of partnership engagement.

§ Experience in handling donor visibility and recognition programmes.

§ Minimum 3 years of experience including managing corporate accounts, communications/advocacy work or other private sector fundraising in a non-profit or international organization.

§ Proven ability to negotiate and secure corporate partnerships for a monetary value of $250,000 and above.

§ Demonstrated revenue growth in a corporate partnership account managed under his/her direct supervision.

§ Proven ability in understanding how to reconcile the needs of the organization with those of the corporate partner.

§ Excellent knowledge of English (written/oral/comprehension). Highly developed drafting ability in English.
