Country Director - Haiti

Plan International has been operating in Haiti since 1974 and is viewed as one of the most respected child centred INGO’s in the country. Plan International currently works with 35,000 children across 3 programme units.
As Country Director you will be responsible for the operations and results of Plan International in Haiti in an evolving political, economic, institutional and legal/labor environment. You will also be the budget owner for Haiti’s 3 Programs and Operations (currently averaging around EUROS $ 7.2 M per year). In addition, the Country Director heads a Country Management Leadership Team and provides strategic leadership to Plan Haiti´s staff, currently 160 local employees.
Do you have what it takes?
In this demanding and varied role the successful applicant will require demonstrable knowledge on the key debates in development and emergency response methods and effectiveness, particularly about rights-based programming for child rights. You will also require In-depth knowledge of security risk management and associated principles.
Knowledge of the requirements of donor compliance and financial management is essential.
Proven experience in the development and management of effective and motivated teams, including distance management is also required.
Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of Haitian Creole would be a distinct advantage. Working knowledge in Spanish is an asset

Location: Based in Port Au Prince, Haiti with extensive travel
Reports to: Regional Director – Region of Americas
Salary: Circa $75,000 USD per annum plus benefits
