Deputy Regional Director for Operations - Asia Region

The Deputy Regional Director Operations role is to lead and manage a team of functional experts so that management services support the delivery of a high quality programmes in all Country Offices in the region (13) plus the Regional Office itself, including in a disaster. All offices in the region must be fully compliant with Plan’s strategic goals, values and policies and procedures, ensuring organisational standards are understood and met and risks are identified and mitigated.
The role enables others to deliver, providing oversight and risk-management of systems and processes to ensure the proper utilisation of income from grants and sponsorship; effective human resource management and development; cost effective administration and logistics in the provision of IT, legal / risk management, and security.
The role is also responsible for ensuring that all global projects, change initiatives and systems in the region with implications for support function areas are implemented effectively in all offices with the overall aim of supporting Plan International to become an agile and effective organisation.
The DRD Operations will also be the Team Leader of the Regional headquarters office based in Manila, Philippines consisting of 15 staff. Together with the DRD for Programs and the Regional Director, the DRD for Operations will be a member of the core RO management team and is therefore expected to provide strategic leadership and direction for the RO office and for the wider region.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to succeed in this varied and challenging role you will require demonstrable knowledge on all the key operational support areas of: finance, HR&OD, ICT, sponsorship, security, risk management, legal and administration.
Excellent analytical skills in relation to resource planning and financing
Knowledge of the particular administrative, legal and operational contexts of the countries of Asia is preferred but not essential.
Proven capacity to manage effective and motivated teams, including distance management.

Location: Office based out of either Manila or Bangkok with extensive international travel throughout Asia (up to 50%)
Type of Contract: 5 year fixed term contract
Salary: Circa $80,000 USD per annum + benefits
Reports to: Regional Director – Asia Region
