JOB SUMMARY & PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the MIS Assistant is responsible for developing and implementing M&E systems focused on data collection, analysis and reporting to ensure the projects generates high quality and dependable data and reports.

Tasks and responsibilities

R 1: Data Management

Task 1.1 Design procedures to ensure high quality of data from the Field Offices and projects

Task 1.2 Coordinate data collection and entry into the MIS for the Link Up Project.

Task 1.3 Perform high level analyses of Link Up Project data.

Task 1.4 Coordinate generation of high quality MIS reports to program management staff and consultants
Task 1.5 Help to design and Implement sustainable strategies for monitoring data and quality

R 2: Website administration
Task 2.1 Coordinate website uploading of high quality and up to date GSL data in the SAVIX website and e- recording uploads and down loads.

Task 2.2 Disseminate information on the content of the SAVIX website to all relevant parties
Task 2.3 Perform maintenance and administration tasks on the SAVIX website

R 3: Maintenance of IT Hardware Resources
Task 3.1 Undertakes proper use and maintenance of computer hardware, software and other resources assigned to him/her.

Task 3.2 Identify areas of IT resource needs within the GSL MIS use and make recommendations on how to improve.

Task 3.3 Be involved in software installation/upgrading and maintenance

R 4: Monitoring and Evaluation support

Task 4.1 Assist the F.Os with the Data collection where necessary and ensure all data due are available for entries

Task 4.1 Ensure all the data are verified, polished an entered in the MIS system ready for reporting.

Task 4.2 Assist program managers to develop systematic and realistic monitoring plans that capture quantitative and qualitative data to report on project performance indicators.

Task 4.3 Assist in Coordination of the implementation of baseline surveys, follow‐on monitoring and evaluation exercises for the project.

Task 4.4 Build capacity of local communities, partners and staff on the data management and analysis.

Task 4.5 Develop program and operational reporting templates that facilitate the acquisition and aggregation of GS&L data information in projects.

Task 5 Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: Minimum of Diploma in Social Sciences , Information technology is an added advantage
  2. Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in data management role and community work.

  3. Data analysis using Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS), Advance MS Excel

  4. Competencies: Accurate, high level of numeracy and good analytical skills
